Lately, upcoming books and magazine articles have conspired to turn July and August into a
perfect storm of deadlines. But on a cooler note, a full-color set of the second-pass edited pages for
The New Essential Chronology arrived yesterday.
It looks like a bangup book. The artists, Mark Chiarello, Tommy Lee Edwards, and John Van Fleet, have produced some beautiful stuff, even if all of it isn't completed at this early stage. The layout and look of the book is great, and is improved immensely by being in full-color, as opposed to the 1999 edition of the Essential Chronology.
It's 256 pages, or 23% bigger than the previous edition, with a lot more new material on top of that (since the "old" material was rewritten and condensed).
According to Amazon, it hits shelves on October 25.
