Hello all it's me again. I know, I'm shocked too. normally I post a blog and then I mysterioulsy disappear for a little bit, but hopefully I can continue this trend of continual blogging.

Tonight I am talking about something I know I have mentioned in the past, but with the lastest going's on as far as the rise of Darth Caedus is concerned, I feel it is a subject that needs revisiting. I am talking about the darkside, it's sways and it's nature.

I know that on the forums there have been much discussion about whether or not Jacen is truly evil. This brings up interesting points about the nature of the darkside itself and causes some to wonder whether it exists at all. By the end of the Vong war most of the Jedi had come to the idea (led by Jacen) that the Force was just the Force, there was no division in it, and it was only how one used it that determined evil or good.

Now this is an interesting concept, and one that I don't think is wholly untrue. Like anything in life, the Force would be something that is just there for those talented enough to use it (much like those with any sort of talent for math, science, or even music). It is up to the user to decide in what ways they are going to implement the gifts they have been given. In some people power inspires them to do great things and help those in need, while in others, the power begins to corrupt them and causes them to do anything to hold on to that power and attain even more of it, no matter who it hurts.

That being said, I do believe that there is a darkside of the Force. Yes it is part of the greater whole that is the Force (or "the great mystery" as some Sith Lords would put it), but it is there nonetheless. I don't think of it as just another entity like the Force that only a few people chose to use. If you think of the Force as an entity with purpose and will (as many are coming to the idea of) then it is understandale that there could be more than one side of it; much like a person is more than just one thought or one idea, but has the capacity for both good and evil. So that being the case it is not a far thought that the Darkside would call out to those Force-users with a darker nature in them and vice versa. The dark part of the user is assisted and amplified by the Darkside, and so both assumptions can be true. Yes the Force is unified, but mult-faceted.

So does this mean that Jacen is truly evil? Honestly I think that is something to talk about next time, for I have many ideas on that subject on it's own. His fall is definitely interesting but the result is looking to be about the same.
