I know I haven't written in a long time, but I haven't had much going on, lately.
Since it's hard to express what I really want to say about this event, I will tell you in the form of a poem...
Saturday morning, here it comes
The event I love the most
A place that's very close to me
There was a whole big host
Super Megafest, what a day
I knew I'd soon be tired
The night before I had no sleep
My brain was all mis-wired
I first went to the two for pics
Of them when they were in
The best of the best Star Wars films
Their signage I would win!
I gained the courage to walk up
In my Endor poncho-cloak
To Jeremy Bulloch first I went
And then this man, he spoke
"I like your costume" he said kindly
What a friendly fellow!
He was so nice I could have cried
He was so cool and mellow
Nicely he signed autographs
On the pic I bought
"You're cool" it read in his message
In silver marker wrought
I thanked him, smiled, nodded
And then went to see Darth Maul
He was played by Ray Park I know
(I just wanted to stun you all)
He, too, was extremely nice
It had been what I'd hoped for
I got a pic for my dear friend
For she loves Ray Park more
He wrote for her an autograph
In golden ink so pure
"Take care" it read with a smiley face
My friend will love it for sure!
So then I went to seek out vendors
(I bought a little Biggs Darklighter
A 30th Anniversary coin, dressed
As a pilot of an X-wing fighter)
I then hung out with members of
The New England 501st Legion
I got a picture taken then, talked
With members of my region
Then I sought the Rebel Legion
For members of Alderaan Base
Everyone was happy and I too
Had a wide grin on my face
That's not all, though, I then entered
A raffle for some Star Wars stuff
I walked around a little more
(As if the scenery wasn't enough)
The sights, sounds, the smells and touch
I couldn't shake off the glee
But one thing I'll do NEXT year is mind
To take my camera with me
All this happens before Thanksgiving
And my Monday birthday date
(The 26th is when I turn 22)
I hope that I'll recuperate
Recuperate from the excitement
Of the event and all that's good
I hope to get more Star Wars stuff
In the future, I'm sure I could
But let me tell you one thing more
Before I end my Star Wars tale
To boldly go to more events
In that, I will not fail!
I hope you liked that. Truly everyone was nice and sweet to me. Especially the New England Garrison of the 501st Legion. I was complemented on my
costume which was my character's Endor poncho with a belt and lightsaber.
I hope I get to do more of this stuff because it fills my senses with delight. I can barely speak I am so excited. I couldn't even eat breakfast that morning.
As a marijuana smoker might say, "I've still got the buzz" and I hope my zeal for Star Wars never wears off.
May the Force be with us all,
Orillia Darkstar
P.S. I've been thinking about doing a blog on the Music of Star Wars. I could write about every piece of the soundtrack since I own them all. Let me know if you all think that this is a good idea, 'kay?
