Star Wars and Star Trek are two of the biggest things in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy realm. Being a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek, I cannot decide which is better.

WHY STAR WARS IS BETTER [no specific order]

-Darth Vader. Come on! Star Wars has the coolest baddie in the world! Lord Vader out-wins all the bad/evil people in any movie.
-Lightsabers. Let there be lightsabers! Lightsabers are the elegant weapons that Jedi use, and they are far better than phaser guns.
-Special Effects. In The Original Series of Star Trek, teh special effects were really cheesy, but in the OT of Star Wars, the special effects rocked.
-Space Pirates/Bounty Hunters. Star Wars has a lot of space pirates and bounty hunters. In Star Trek, the closest thing to space pirates or bounty hunters would be the ruthless race of Klingons.
-Bith Music. In teh Star Trek universe, the only music they listen to is tango, and classical, espicially Capatain Jean-Luc Picard. In Star Wars, they have cantinas where these Bith play their funky music!
-Artoo and Threepio. Nothing is better than having talking robots, espicially when they fight with each other
-Hyperspace. Yeah, Star Wars has Hyperspace, which is a lot cooler than warp factor 6.7
-More Tragic. I personally think that Star Wars is more tragic than Star Trek. Especially in Episode III. There are times in Star Trek (movies/episodes) that are also tragic, but I don't think they match up to Star Wars in tragedy.
-Ewan McGregor. Yesh, the pure beauty of Ewan McGregor is in Star Wars, while, unfortunatly, there is no purely beautiful actor in Star Trek (Ils sont tous vieux!!) (they are all old!!)
-More fighting. Needless to say, I am into movies with cool fight scenes. Star Wars has a lot more fighting than Star Trek (in its TV episodes. Lots of good fighing in most movies).

WHY STAR TREK IS BETTER [no specific order]

-Spock. Nothing can get better than having Spock. Spock is one of my favourite ST characters. Spock is even cooler than Kirk, in all his logic
-Data. Wouldn't you want to have a walking calculator? Data is also one of my fav. characters. He comes with supernatural strength, an intellect that is as smart as a Vulcan, and he is hot!
-The Enterprise. They have the Enterprise. Sure, it didn't make the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs, but the Enterprise is a fine ship.
-Aliens. Both Star Trek and Star Wars have lots and lots of alien species, but I think Star Trek does a lot better job in explaining each race. Like Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians etc etc.
-Stories. While the Star Wars movies have one main story line, each Star Trek episode has interesting stories that we all might have similar problems with.
-The Q Continuum. Star Trek has many alien races that are very different from the Star Wars races. The Q Continuum is where all the Q species live. The Q are God-like, and tend to have many followers in different planets who call them Gods. The Q are also one of the most mysterious species in the Star Trek Universe. Star Wars doesn't really talk much about the other speices/aliens.
-Romulan Ale. Mmmm, can't you taste the alcoholic goodness of teh Romulan Ale?! Romulan Ale is one of the best alcoholic drinks in the Star Trek Universe! In Star Wars, you don't really get to know what it is they're eating or drinking, but there's plenty of food to go around in Star Trek!
-The Bitterness towards races. In Star Trek, there is a lot of bitterness that is shown between alien races, that leads to wars. One of the most famous bitterness is between the Federation-The Klingons-The Romulans. The Klingon and Romulan races have always been enimies, and the Federation has tried to make them stop, but has failed in most cases.
-Starship Crew. Yesh, Star Wars may have starships, but they don't talk much about the crew, now do they? Star Trek has starships in TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT. They each talk about the crew members, and their lives.
-Closest to Reality. In the Sci-Fi/Fantasy realm, there really isn't anyway something can be close to reality, but Star Trek is closer to reality than Star Wars. It takes place in many stardates (2364, 2453, 2534 etc etc), and we the aliens all seem logical enough to be out there. Who knows - we might actually be living in Deep Space Nine in 50 kajillion years.
-The Holodeck. Nothing is more entertaining than the Holodeck! The Holodeck is an invention that took over movies, and is super fun. You can write your own story, and you can be a main character in it. Yeah, its uber fun.


...those are some of the ideas why SW is better than ST or why ST is better than SW. My brain isn't really functioning too well today, and i know i left out a lot of things, so please contribute and say which is better and why!!!! Comments = appreciated.
