Lord Vader the victim?

After watching the prequels many times, one of the interesting things is how it changes our view of the original movies. One of the things Lucas talks about on the ROTS dvd is how Vader was originally supposed to be a "pathetic" character, not the icon

I realize that awards do not really matter, but I think that ROTS was the best movie of 2005. However, I think it will win nothing.
