What If... Here's Where the Fun Begins
Okay, this may seem a little silly, but since the saga is "rumored" to be complete now, ;), I'm going to have a bit of fun.

Let's just suppose the story as we now know it, stayed exactly the same but for one detail. Instead of seducing Anakin Skywalker, just pretend for a moment that Palpidious chose, say, Kit Fisto, as his apprentice and that he, not Anakin, became Darth Vader. Like I said, everything else falls into place as now currently constituted. Anakin still marries Padme in secret, has twins with her and they live happily ever after. Okay, so everything is not exactly as before but, please, play along.

Anakin remains good, which actually gives his son Luke a positive male role model in his life. Not that there was anything wrong with Uncle Owen; scratch that, there was plenty wrong with how he brought up Luke but, never mind. Anakin reveals everything to his mentor Obi-wan who, in turn, reveals to Anakin that he already knew but didn't want to blow it for him. Oh, that is so un-Obi-wan-like, I know, but who's story is this anyway? So, Obi-wan, being known as the negotiator, presents the Jedi Council with an amicable solution.

He and Anakin propose that "The Chosen One" be given a medical discharge from the Order. It seems, Anakin, has suddenly developed an allergic reaction to the Cyber crystals used in all the lightsabers. After initially bristling at this absurd notion, Yoda relents with his usual, "The Dark Side clouds everything" spiel and Anakin is allowed to leave the Order with full honors. He, Padme (recently relieved of her duties as well) and the Twins retreat to Naboo where they quickly form the Rebellion along with Bail Organa, Mon Mothma and the rest of the recently dubbed, "Twisted Two Thousand" by Emperor Palpidious.

Luke accompanies his father as soon as he can see over the console of Anakin's starfighter, the new X-Wing class prevelant in the Rebel Alliance. Leia learns the ways of Galactic politics under the tutilage of her mother and all is well and rebellious in the Skywalker family. Anakin even manages to introduce his son to the ways of the Jedi in his spare time and before you can say, use the Force, Luke, the young boy is off to Dagobah where he meets master Yoda and becomes the padawan of Obi-wan Kenobi. Luke is soon dubbed the "Son of the Chosen One" and swiftly overtakes his father as potentially the most talented Jedi ever.

Leia, on the other hand, meets some two-bit Corellian pilot accompanied by a Wookie. Mr. Skywalker, needless to say, is not impressed. Already reeling from the news that his, and now Luke's, erstwhile mentor was struck down by a former Jedi now known as Darth Vader, Anakin is in no mood to deal with some lousy smuggler trying to win his daughter's hand...
