Anakin and Us

Hey guy's its me. I'm sorry I havn't blogged in awhile, my sister Madelyn (if you read one of my previous blogs you will know she had cancer),passed on February 2, 2008. I just wanted to take a break on blogging for awhile. If you want to read more about her, her website is called, www.caringbridge.org/tn/madelyn.

My blog today is really about the comparisons I see with Anakin and myself. I know really see how Anakin felt when he knew that Padme could die. The doctors at St. Jude told us that there was nothing more they could do for Madelyn. But as Maddie was nearing her last days, I felt like I should do something but I knew I couldn't.

I also see comparisons with Anakin and Madelyn. Maddie had a healthy life until she was two years old, and she got sick. Anakin had a good life as a jedi until he turned to the dark side. The dark side in our lives was the cancer. Just before Anakin died, he returned to the light, defeating the dark side. When Maddie was on a vent, the doctors said she wasn't going to make it, but she did. The same thing repeated itself three times and yet she made it. When she passed she didn't lose. She won. They told us she would have two years at the most, but she had four. Those are the comparisons I see between Anakin and us.

date Posted: Mar 04, 2008 8:56 AM I have no words about this. I feel really sorry. Children should never die .... My son's best friend died of leukaemia when he was 11 and I followed the process very closely, so I can imagine (only imagine, I cannot compare) what you and your family have felt. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. She is One with the Force now ....

I don't really see the Dark Side as some kind of disease that need to be rid off. I just cannot see it that way. I believe there are times in our lives when we need to be little dark - at least when the situation calls for it. As my parents once told me, you cannot be a nice person all the time. Sometimes, you have to be a little unpleasant to insure that someone else does not take advantage of you.

The problem with Anakin was not that he had a Dark Side or that he had failed to suppress that dark side. His problem was that he had allowed it to get out of control and consume him.
