"
But how do I know the Light Side from the bad?"
A-HA! Gotcha. He never said this line. In
Episode V, Luke asks Yoda, "...how do I know the
good side from the bad?".
Fans are constantly tossing about this "Light Side" business. To quote the inimitable
Yodafan776: "
I personally don't like the term "light-side", as it does have that kind of turkey bologna connotation to me, too." Just so.
Perhaps one might catch Lord Vader strolling a SSD muttering, "Why do I always have to be the
heavy?" but one would never find Yoda saying, "Ahh the Lite Side. Fluffier, creamier, Less Filling it is." To which a flabbergasted Mace Windu would sputter, "......Tastes GREAT!!"
Ad nauseum...
This business of a Light Side always sticks in my craw, though, seriously.
Again, this time in
Episode VI, Luke gives the
true nomenclature of the Force when he says:
"
I can save him, I can turn him back to the Good Side."
By the way...a couple of
Star Wars firsts for me yesterday. I watched all six episodes (do I have to say which order? The story order, stoopid!) back to back. This was also the first time I saw
Episode III on DVD! I was waiting for this moment, and I declared a
Star Wars Holiday.
Which is of course never to be confused with a Star Wars Holiday
Special.
