My part in Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed
I was interviewed for Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed, which will air on the History Channel at the end of May and will be released on DVD probably in Fall. The DVD is two hours, but the show on the History Channel is only an hour and a half (plus 30 minutes of beer and car commercials). I found out the other day that the half hour that was set aside for Miller and Hyundai includes the bits I was in. It's pretty disappointing to not be in the big show everyone will see. And I must say I'm not excited about getting bumped for Newt Gingrich and Nancy Pelosi (although I guess Newt deserves credit for providing a certain Viceroy of the Trade Federation his name; him and Ronald Reagan, that is).

Nonetheless, I am deeply grateful just to be part of the production. The official letter that requested my participation was cc'd to George Lucas and I was told (though I can't confirm) that he personally approved my selection. Quite an honor and a thrill for a regular ol' guy who has obsessed over Star Wars since he was three years old.

So, if you're interested in what a fellow Star Wars fan thinks and maybe would like to know more about Zen and Yoda and stuff like that, check out the DVD. Unfortunately, you won't get to see that ubiquitous Verizon guy, but you will get a lot more meaningful content.

I participated on a SW themed show years ago but I also got cut. That's the breaks! Look forward to the DVD.

So cool! I don't get the History channel anyway, so I'll get to see it and you in all your glory on DVD when it comes out, whenever that is :)

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm glad many of you will watch the DVD. It's thirty more minutes, so there's bound to be some pretty good stuff on there that won't make the History Channel. And JK, I don't know about my "glory." If I just didn't make a complete fool out of myself I'll be pleased.

That sucks dude, I'll look for you on the DVD! What made me laugh was Newt saying how the Empire was the Soviets and the Rebs were the Americans... and then right away they have the younger dude(I forget his name) saying how the Empire is "the Man" and "the System." I've always felt that was more accurate. I mean, after all, outside economic models how different REALLY did the Soviets and Americans prove to be?

Tough luck about being cut from the TV show. But you made you make on SW culture. Your book is in 5 libraries in my county, and I used it researching my book (though I didn't use enough material to credit you in the bib). I will look for the DVD, though I am not a fan of that documentary. It's very one sided; a propaganda piece for LFL.
