 | 3 is a Magic Number [Part 5] |
Tickets! Sweeeeeeeeeeet! 2 of the 3 Midnight shows sold out in like... 12 minutes or something.
And then the fleet started breaking up.
Here's where one might question just how deep my fandom goes. I had to leave the line for a while. What?!?! I had a plumbing project to complete for my Mom at her house... But before we left, a plan was made to meet for Dinner at 6 with Tommy, Keith and Anna, Chad and I, and then return to the line for an evening of anticipation.
I ran some errands for the plumbing project, and headed home. A couple hours of fighting with the irrigation system and a catnap later, I was ready to go again. Before picking up Chad at 3, I swung by the theater to see who the hardcore fans really were. Radio-guy, Josh, and an as yet unnamed passerby were all that remained in front of the theater. Even #1-in-Line-Luke had taken a break from the line. Astounding!
That morning I had broken a shoe in an extreme lightsaber duel with Darth Josh, the skateboarding Sidious... so I had to get some new ones. A trip to the mall was in order. Got some shoes, and stopped at the Hot Topic to pick up a Vintage Star Wars T-shirt for my friend Mark. Lo and behold, one of the clerks there was actually in line with us that morning; I didn't feel so bad about leaving the line.
Before the 6 o'clock dinner, Chad and I stopped at Keith and Anna's house, to see Keith's SW memorabilia collection. I walked in to the room. I took in the scene. I walked out of the room and had 3 (!) words for Keith.
"Impressive. Most Impressive."
Dinner at 6 was at Applebees. I had a Perfect margarita. It was indeed perfect, and I was feeling like the wait in line was going to be a fun one.
After dinner, I picked up some... malted barley and hops refreshments, packed them in the cooler, and we headed back to the theater.
