 | Borrow a Trekkie |
A little while ago, the Norwegian Green cross (a subsidiary of the red one), created a human library. The idea behind this is that it will be possible to borrow a human being for a few hours.
Not just any other human, but one that a lot of people are prejudiced against. Blind, in a wheelchair, gay/lesbian/transgender, HIV-positive, immigrant, bulimic, old, soccer-fan, jew, preast, and so on. I think they've got a politician as well.
The reason of doing this is that people, schools, organisations etc. should be able to redeem their prejudices by learning more about so-called weird people.
If you could borrow a person for a few hours, and thus learn more of who they are and how their world is built, who would you choose?
I think I would pick a Star Trek fan. I've always wondered what they're on about.
