The future of Star Wars part 2
I guess I got a little sidetracked somewhere during my last entry, but at least now I can say what I originally meant to say...

Now that RotS has come out, what else do we have to look forward to?
Sure, we have the OOT (Which is yet to be released over here as far as I know), but that is just the other side of the coins that are the OT SE. But as I said; now that the saga is complete, what will happen to it?

Will it simply stay as it is? No animated Clone Wars, no live action series, no nothing? Or will it become like Star Trek all over again? No ill word to Star Trek, but haven't they taken it a bit far, stretched it to much.
Imagine you've made a trip through time, and are at Celebration LIV in 2060 (There were a few years without Celebration due to WW4) and check out the show. What would it be like? I reckon it would be a bit the same as now, fans dressed up as Jedi and Sith, with the odd Stormie in between. And over there, on the stage, is an aging Jake Loyd, the only still-living Darth Vader. And outside the convention centre, people are asking themselves "Star What?"

It's a bit farfetched, but is it unlikely? I don't think so.
Star Wars, like all things, will be forgotten in a hundred years. As it should be, because by then something better will have shown up. Something "Faster and more Intense", as George would put it.

I would absolutely love it if my future kids liked Star Wars. But what about my grandchildren? Would they go all It's not even 3D. Or would they look past that, and be taken in by the magic. And would they prefer the PT over the OT, or would they listen to their crazy old grandmother and go with Luke and co.? That will depend on what Lucasfilm does now.

What exactly are they planning to do with the two new shows? Will it be just like the Star Wars we already have, or will they just go on and on until it goes from great move saga to lame TV-show? I've already made comparisons to Star Trek, so I won't do it now. Will it become MacGyver? A great show that was, but lost it near the end.

I've asked a lot of questions, but what about answers? I guess we simply won't know until next year, when the first show arrives. And I actually hope that the shows last two or three seasons, four tops. That way, in 54 years, my grandkids can go all like:
"My grandmother is way cooler than yours. She's got Star Wars at home." And when the other kids in the sandpit asks what Star Wars is, they'll say: "It's a couple really ancient movies. There's series as well, but the movies are best. They're a bit strange, but they kick shebs". And then all the other kids go Oooooooooh.

Yes, people will say shebs in the future. But without knowing why:)

CORRIEARKLET
The moment at which two people approaching from opposite ends of a long passageway, recognise each other and immediately pretend they haven't. This is to avoid the ghastly embarrassment of having to continue recognising each other the whole length of the corridor.
