Christmas.
That wonderful time of year we all love. Time for food, drink, presents and fun with family and friends. But it is also much more than that.
Back when I was a kid, I always used to look forward to this time of year. I always crazy with joy at the first fall of snow. I loved travelling to the city to go gift shopping with mom and dad. Everything was big and shiny, and Santa was still very real.
But now, several years later, things have changed. I now live in the same city I so rarely visited as a kid, I get annoyed by the snow because it makes it difficult and dangerous to ride my bike. And I get annoyed because it's the 25th of November, less than a month until Christmas,
and there's still no snow! It's not even below freezing for zarks sake. No skiing, no snowman, and no toboggan (is that really a word?)
Another reason not to be happy about the time of year is because I, like all other students, have exams looming on the horizon. Only two, but that's bad enough. It's Saturday, its 10 o'clock, and I'm at school doing maths. How fun is that? Most of my non-school friends are either knocking each other senseless with wooden swords, or are plummeting towards the ground at 150 mph.
But I know what I want to do when my exams are over. See the Star Wars Holiday Special. I've never seen it, but it has to be good. Yes, yes, I know George don't like it, but it's part of SW history. And the fact that it was made as a Christmas show (at least I think it was) just makes it that much better. Perhaps they could make a special season offer at the SWShop. A limited DVD of
Star Wars Holiday Special, Special Edition, and perhaps the George can do the commentaries. How great wouldn't that be?
CORRIEDOO
The crucial moment of false recognition in a long passageway encounter. Though both people are perfectly well aware that the other is approaching, they must eventually pretend sudden recognition. They now look up with a glassy smile, as if having spotted each other for the first time, (and are particularly
delighted to have done so) shouting out "Haaaalllloooo"¨ as if to say "Good grief!! You!! Here!! Of all people! Well I never. Coo. Stap me vitals, etc"
In other news; The Roger Waters incident is going well. People are curious and ask a lot of questions, but that's to be expected. Looking forward to the next breakthrough.
