A bit about the new novels.....
Here's the line up as of this moment, at least as it stands through June 2011. The dates are penciled in - as always, things can and do change, as you'll see below. I hope there's at least one surprise......

November 25, 2008* - trade paperback: CLONE WARS: WILD SPACE by Karen Miller. This novel stars Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bail Organa and takes place primarily in............ wild space! The cover has been posted on sw.com.
*10/9 -- looks like it's really December 9th.

December 30, 2008 - Hardcover: LUKE SKYWALKER AND THE SHADOWS OF MINDOR by Matthew Stover. This one's been on the official site - you've seen the cover and copy.

January 27, 2009 - Paperback: CORUSCANT NIGHTS 3: PATTERNS OF FORCE by Michael Reaves. This has been on the official site as well - cover and copy. In the back of the book is a one-page introduction to the FATE OF THE JEDI series. Not an excerpt, just an intro.

April 7, 2009* - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 1: OUTCAST by Aaron Allston. Luke and Ben attempt to follow Jacen's previous journey in the hopes of discovering what and how various Force-using groups influenced him to accept and use dark side powers. No cover yet - we have a cover direction and style, but no final.
*10/8 -- Now I'm seeing that this may come out March 24th.

April 28, 2009 - Paperback: BLOOD OATH, by Elaine Cunningham. This is Zekk's story and takes place after his mishap in the battle in INVINCIBLE. Yes, he still lives. We have just received cover concepts on this one - the artist is Dave Seeley.

April 28, 2009 - Paperback: INDIANA JONES AND THE ARMY OF THE DEAD by Steve Perry. Right, this one's not a Star Wars novel. It stars Indiana Jones and is set during WWII when Indy takes a side trip to visit "Mac" McHale in Haiti. Cover concepts by Craig Howell have just been received.

May 19, 2009 - Trade Paperback: CLONE WARS: NO PRISONERS by Karen Traviss. This Clone Wars novel stars Anakin and Ahsoka, Captain Rex, Count Dooku and a few others, but no prisoners.

June 23, 2009* - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 2: ENIGMA ** by Christie Golden. Continues the FATE OF THE JEDI story..... major developments, new characters, lotsa stuff happens.
* Was July 7th, but was moved up.
**as of 10/1 we've changed the title to OMEN.

August 4, 2009 - Paperback: Imperial Commando: 501st by Karen Traviss. Great title, huh?

October 6, 2009* - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 3: ABYSS by Troy Denning. More hapans... er, happens. Sorry for the typo, it means nothing.
*10/9/08 -- this one has been moved to August 28, 2009.
10/27/08 -- the title ABYSS was just settled on.

November 1, 2009 - Paperback: Untitled horror novel *by Joe Schreiber takes place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and should be read under the covers by flashlight.
* We have a title! DEATHTROOPERS and it's now placed just before A New Hope.

December 30, 2009* - Hardcover: Untitled Darth Bane novel by Drew Karpyshyn. I don't have the outline for this one yet, but I'm hoping it continues the story of Darth Bane and his apprentice Zannah. I'm dying to see how the two of them get along.
* 10/9/08 - this one has been moved to December 16th, 2009.

January 2010 -- Paperback: Untitled* by Paul Kemp. This one sort of takes place during the Great Hyperspace War, and then.... well, you'll see. This is the one that involves Jaden Korr. Figure that out!
* 10/27/08 -- the title is CROSSCURRENT

February 2010* - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 4 by Aaron Allston.
*10/9/08 - this one has been moved to December 30, 2009.

March 2010 -- Trade Paperback, CLONE WARS #34by Karen Miller.

May 2010 - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 5 by Christie Golden.

July 2010 - Paperback: IMPERIAL COMMANDO 2 by Karen Traviss.

August 2010 - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 6 by Troy Denning.

October 2010 - Hardcover: Untitled by Alex Irvine. This is a stand-alone novel starring... are you ready? Nomi Sunrider!!

November 2010 - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 7 by Aaron Allston.

January 2011 - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 8 by Christie Golden.

March 2011 - Paperback: Untitled Boba Fett novel by Karen Traviss. Stars Boba Fett.

April 2011 - Hardcover: FATE OF THE JEDI 9 by Troy Denning. Wraps up the series....

June 2011 - Paperback: Untitled by Michael Reaves and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff, featuring a promising holostar - a rags to riches story set against the backdrop of the early days of the Rebellion.
* 10/8 -- the book has just been set at 2 years BBY.

That's it for now - more as it happens.

Awesome, thanks for all the updates. Any reason why there is almost a year between Imperial Commando 1 & 2?

Thanks again, this is great! :)

Karen Traviss is also writing the Boba Fett and Clone Wars novels, so that's four novels in a few years, of only her SW books. So a year between ImpCom books is understandable.

CLONE WARS: WILD SPACE

Is this classified as a young adult novel?

but we should have a cover direction by the end of next week.

Yay!!! Can't wait!! Must hold on...must hold on...must hold...:_|

Untitled horror novel

Can you tell us anything further about what qualifies this as "horror" rather than just sci-fi?

I'm dying to see how the two of them get along.

Somebody's gonna be dying...;)

Nomi Sunrider!!

YES!!!

Thanks for the extraordinary update! MTFBWY!!!

This is awesome news, Sue. Thanks for posting it. Definitely a couple surprises in there, like the Zekk novel, and that the FOTJ series will be another 9 book collaboration between 3 authors like LOTF was. Can't wait for that one. It will look great on the shelf in 9 hardcovers too!

And I can't say how happy I am to see that Karen will be continuing her Commando series. I'm about 60% through Order 66 right now, and it rocks!!

No, it's there -- it's coming out so soon and is pretty well-known, so I didn't include it. It's pub date is October 21st and it's a Hardcover by Jim Luceno. A must read, in my opinion....

Sue, this is awesome. I can't wait for all the new EU stuff. I have all of the novels, most of the graphic novels, comics etc and try to keep them organized in my library in order. Other than the list on Theforce.net that isn't updated with the newest stuff, is there a list somewhere that shows all of the stuff, including the new stuff like Order 66 and Minds of Mindor in their order within the timeline?

A LIST -- I don't have one -- i have the books on a calendar and Leland can run reports of a timeline -- we're going to revamp the timeline that's been appearing in the books. It's possible that someone out there has one though...

I'm so excited about this!

But Jaden Korr, during the Great Hyperspace War? Doesn't that take place 5,000 years before he is even born? It's about time there were more Old Republic novels. Can you tell us which era the Boba Fett novel will take place in?

For a great timeline go to:

Joe has even put all of the Clone Wars EU in their new places already!

Sue,

Thank you for sharing! I'm just about to finish up the Legacy series after reading all the post Return of the Jedi books the last three years. (Yes I know some of you read them faster them! I just read like a bantha.) Until this time I have not had to wait to read a book. So waiting for the first and ongoing Fate books will be torture. Thank goodness I have a lot of pre-ROTJ to choose from until then.

Speaking of waiting, I did not notice a date for Invincible in paperback. I know you would rather me buy the hardback. Please accept my apologize when I say I have to save money.

Peace,

You know, the juvenile books for the clone wars are also not to be missed. I'm also interested in the new series by scholastic, it has promise, plus the star wars adventures from dark horse. I think those digests are going to cover all the old trilogy characters.

Probably the "wetting the pants" part.

I was told that phrase a lot yesterday as I toured Rancho Obi-Wan with the Rebel Legion. But I really "wet my pants" after reading LUKE SKYWALKER AND THE SHADOWS OF MINDOR, FREAKING AWESOME and I want more. :D :p

Heh, you should see Steve Sansweet's SW book collection. Not only does he have every SW book in English, but in every language too. Lots of cramming going on there...Unbelievable. :D
