It's a good day for my Star Wars fandom.
This morning I awoke from a dream, a Star Wars dream no less. It involved a book I had read recently, a book called The Desperate Mission. A children's SW book written by Jude Watson. Last week at Barnes & Noble, while I was purchasing Labyrinth of Evil, my son was in the children's section and came across a set of Star Wars books. He had chosen this book because it told of what transpired after Obi-wan had delivered the twins to their new families. My son was busy with Little League that night so I couldn't resist and began reading it. I couldn't put it down after that. I had finished reading it within a day or so. It begins as Obi-wan sneaks onto the farm each evening at dusk to check on baby Luke. He sees Luke crawling and playing with a ball while Aunt Beru is cooking dinner and watching him play. It soon turns to an exciting adventure as Obi-wan leaves in search of an old friend and Jedi named Ferus Olin, and finds himself ... well, I don't want to blow it for those who may want to check it out sometime.
Anywho, in my dream I find myself smack in the middle of Obi-wan's mission, fighting the Empire right by his side. I'm awakened to my alarm clock buzzing at 4:45 am. This is strange to me because I had woken up around 4:10 to see what time it was so this all happened within 35 minutes.
So, I get up, get ready for another mundane day at work, but before I leave, gotta check the blogs. I read Rex-O's blog about not losing my inner child, comment and then say hello to jedilaura28 before taking off to work.
On my lunch break I run up to Target to get all the things you must buy there if you don't want to go broke... shampoo, toothpaste etc. I get up to the front of the line and the cashier starts to grab at my purse. At first I'm freaking out, and then he says, "Is that Luke Skywalker?" I realize he's checking out my key chain action figures that I have dangling from my purse. I have Luke, Boba and Han Solo. There's no one behind me so of course we begin talking about our favorite SW episodes. I head back to work and get there before my lunch is over so what do I do? Gotta check the blogs! I wish Son of a Bith a happy birthday and get back to work.
After work I walk in and the kids are excited to work on the 500 piece, two-sided, Vader shaped puzzle we had bought at the Barnes & Noble. Very cool by the way! It came in a collectable square tin about 8"x 8" in diameter. As a matter of fact I bought two, one for the collection and one to put together. At 75% off they were $3.75 each!
Okay, so now it's 8:00pm Friday night and that means Smackdown (Wrestling) for the boys and their dad. So now it's mommy time, my favorite time to retreat to my room to enjoy a SW flick, blog, read, or just admire my SW collection. I put in Ep II and log onto my PC. The weirdest thing happens next...
The DVD and my PC begin to play the Star Wars theme at the same time (the SW Activity Center makes my PC begin with the SW tune when I log on). I'm not sure if the TV's sound is up at first! I turn it up and holy cow! They are in perfect sync!
The perfect ending to a perfect day!
