It's a Star Wars day if I must say so!
It's a good day for my Star Wars fandom.

This morning I awoke from a dream, a Star Wars dream no less. It involved a book I had read recently, a book called The Desperate Mission. A children's SW book written by Jude Watson. Last week at Barnes & Noble, while I was purchasing Labyrinth of Evil, my son was in the children's section and came across a set of Star Wars books. He had chosen this book because it told of what transpired after Obi-wan had delivered the twins to their new families. My son was busy with Little League that night so I couldn't resist and began reading it. I couldn't put it down after that. I had finished reading it within a day or so. It begins as Obi-wan sneaks onto the farm each evening at dusk to check on baby Luke. He sees Luke crawling and playing with a ball while Aunt Beru is cooking dinner and watching him play. It soon turns to an exciting adventure as Obi-wan leaves in search of an old friend and Jedi named Ferus Olin, and finds himself ... well, I don't want to blow it for those who may want to check it out sometime.

Anywho, in my dream I find myself smack in the middle of Obi-wan's mission, fighting the Empire right by his side. I'm awakened to my alarm clock buzzing at 4:45 am. This is strange to me because I had woken up around 4:10 to see what time it was so this all happened within 35 minutes.

So, I get up, get ready for another mundane day at work, but before I leave, gotta check the blogs. I read Rex-O's blog about not losing my inner child, comment and then say hello to jedilaura28 before taking off to work.

On my lunch break I run up to Target to get all the things you must buy there if you don't want to go broke... shampoo, toothpaste etc. I get up to the front of the line and the cashier starts to grab at my purse. At first I'm freaking out, and then he says, "Is that Luke Skywalker?" I realize he's checking out my key chain action figures that I have dangling from my purse. I have Luke, Boba and Han Solo. There's no one behind me so of course we begin talking about our favorite SW episodes. I head back to work and get there before my lunch is over so what do I do? Gotta check the blogs! I wish Son of a Bith a happy birthday and get back to work.

After work I walk in and the kids are excited to work on the 500 piece, two-sided, Vader shaped puzzle we had bought at the Barnes & Noble. Very cool by the way! It came in a collectable square tin about 8"x 8" in diameter. As a matter of fact I bought two, one for the collection and one to put together. At 75% off they were $3.75 each!

Okay, so now it's 8:00pm Friday night and that means Smackdown (Wrestling) for the boys and their dad. So now it's mommy time, my favorite time to retreat to my room to enjoy a SW flick, blog, read, or just admire my SW collection. I put in Ep II and log onto my PC. The weirdest thing happens next...

The DVD and my PC begin to play the Star Wars theme at the same time (the SW Activity Center makes my PC begin with the SW tune when I log on). I'm not sure if the TV's sound is up at first! I turn it up and holy cow! They are in perfect sync!

The perfect ending to a perfect day!

I love it when people mention me in their blogs... in a positive manner, of course!

I hear the guy above me is a real bith.

What?! I said Bith! :p

Very cute to read about another family seemingly bound by Star Wars, though once again proving I need to stop applying voices to blogs just by glancing at the avatar rather than the screenname :D

If I were an army recruiter, I will tell you now that you need some action. You got to go to Irak
unless of course you have not figured out whose the empire and who is the rebels in our reality

glad you got to read desperate mission. ive read a lot of jude watson's young readers series - and i dont have kids.. and im definitely not a young reader. just a huge obiwan fan, and JW writes about him plentifully.

the last of the jedi books are pretty good so far. i was really excited for them since it picks up shortly after ROTS, and also the dark lord book. there are 3 last of the jedi books out now, and a 4th is on its way this spring. try and read the others if you get a chance. you can use your son as the excuse for browsing in the kids section ;)

I dare not! :)

I know, I first chose Anakin because he was my favorite. Ever since Darth Vicomte said I look like a man, I've been looking for something else but I think I'm afraid to lose the karma! :^O

JK Thunder, cool! Thanks for the update. Yes, I find myself using the kids as an excuse alot when it comes to SW! :D

Prince Isharsia, thanks for commenting!

I, myself have been "brought back" to Star Wars since my sons were born. I was a huge collector in the '80s, but got away from it between college, career and family. It has been fun rekindling my love for SW and seeing how others like you have not lost that "kid at heart." I am not 1/16 the expert on trivia, etc as many members are, and I'm humbled by all of your immense knowledge. I have - and always will - looooooooove anything SW. May the Force be with you all!!! :D

MomOf2YoungPadawan, I love that name! Good to see I'm not the only SW mom that just recently (last summer) fell in love again with the Saga. Sounds like you and I have a lot in common. We both got caught up in life and forgot about what we held so dear years ago. It's all good though, wouldn't trade my man or kids for anything and it's only because they are getting older and starting to get into sports and friends, that I felt it was okay to find my own hobby so to say.

Thanks for commenting!

Michelle1968, if you were born in 1968, then I'm older than you. I used to love Star Wars, too. Then, I forgot about it because of school. I got into it again when Phantom Menace was released because I always wondered who Anakin was at the end of Return of the Jedi. Now, he's my favorite SW character.

...as we speak, I have one little Padawan playing the Light Saber Battle game (he's aready beaten Vader...) and another looking at the Essential Guide to Planets and Moons ahhh....life is goooooood!!! Keep it up, SW Moms!! We need more honest Jedi for the future...! P.S. Anakin is my fave, too. Must be a mom thing....he had such a love for -and dedication to - Shmi, and I think we all dig that....I know I do!;)

Great blog...and very much a perfect SW day! Though I probably seem like a naive, ignorant youngling to all you wise mothers, it is very inspiring to see that people with families still keep their love for SW! I hope to raise my own Padawans someday to become excellent SW geeks like myself.

It's fascinating that you all seem to like Anakin the best because I see more of your generation liking the OT better...but I think that's cool! Probably because I am most likely the only one my age whose favorite character is Luke and who prefers the OT! Lol, it's a generation switch! (Anakin is definitely my second favorite, though!) ;)

Ahhhh... the perfect day!!

You know, I've got backpack danglers of Darth Vader, Darth Tater, and Luke on my purse too! Hee! It's so cool being a SW fan!

And those SW kids series are really good.... I've read just about all of them and think they're great. Quick reads and good stories!

It's blogs like this that make me wish I had kids of my own to share SW with... my Godchildren are not really into it. My nephew is just starting to get into SW (he's in 5th grade), so I guess that's something! :)

JediPug1- You have purse danglers too? How funny! I thought I was the only one!

MomOf2- Love your comment about Anakin's loyalty to his mother... that's a good point.

SWPrincess- Yah, I was born in 68. Being a kid when ANH came out was so awesome. I'm so thankful! Anakin's my favorite too! As Jedilaura said it's a generation switch it seems!

Jedi Laura- I probably seem like a naive, ignorant youngling to all you wise mothers

No way! We all love your comments, they rock! Rock on little sister. :x

That was a very enjoyable blog. That is a perfect day. Much better than my weekend where everyone in my house was sick. I did get some Battlefront II in on the XBOX, so I did get some SW in over the weekend. I think I need a vacation where I just read books and watch movies for about a week.

Excellent Blog - delightful and fun! As you can probably tell, I'm not one to do much blogging on the weekend so I missed this entirely. As for dreaming, I too find that I dream most deeply in those odd minutes between an early wake-up and the time the buzzer goes off. It hasn't happened in awhile, but it's happened enough. As for Star Wars over the weekend, I started tweaking my 'fan-fiction' story I completed a draft for a few weeks back. Not sure when it'll be complete - I shouldn't speculate as it creates 'too much pressure'. If/when I finish, I'll let you know.

I'm sooooooo glad to have found such a wonderful community with all of you in it! It's heartwarming to see how SW can bring people together. I have enjoyed reading all of the blogs - I laugh and giggle at some and the hubby thinks I'm nuts - but he admits that me being such a big fan is a cute. Hey - whatever works! Hmmm...anyone own a gold bikini LOL!!!:p

Awesome, I've been meaning to ask you about that... I see you've overcome your apprehension about "The Cave". Wonderful news!

LOL, lucky you - your computer is working perfectly WITH your TV. If I could get either my TV or my computer to work perfectly on its own, I'd be happy.
I had a dream about Star Wars, forgotten what it was about. Usually dreams happen in that short time between waking up and realising it's way too early and waking up and realising that's your alarm clock blaring, not the alarm on a star ship in your dream. Unfortunately...
