You've heard it said, "One man's trash is another's treasure". This has been so true for me over the past month. It started when our family thought we'd take a trip to the swap meet. We hadn't been in ages and we each had things in mind we'd be on the look out for.
If some of you don't know what a swap meet is, it's basically a huge garage sale that's held during the day at drive-in theaters. People pay a small fee to sell their new and used items and buyers stroll down each isle looking for that bargain item they have been longing for.
Of course, my mind was set on SW. I just knew that I'd find some sort of SW collectables. My boys wanted wrestling stuff and my husband is always on the look out for sports paraphernalia.
As we made ourselves through, everyone in my family had found the things they were looking for but I had not seen ANYTHING SW! Just as I was beginning to get discouraged, we turn the corner and there it is...something totally out of this world.
A Darth Vader 3D Sculpture Puzzle, and at $20, a huge bargain! I brought it home and within 3 hours had completed the awesome work of art.

Even my SW hating husband could not believe how cool it was! It is now my prized possession.
Then, earlier this week, a coworker stopped by my office to say that he and his wife had cleaned out their garage and had come across 3 SW toys, apparently old Christmas gifts from grandma.... still in their original packaging from 1996. The coworker told his wife about my collection and they were excited to give me the items. They also made great additions to my collection!
It's been so great finding these treasures!
Tell me your favorite collectable story!
