Mustafar in San Diego continues...
First of all, a big THANK YOU to all of you that have contacted me out of concern. I really appreciated that. Thought I'd let you all know what's happening today....

As I said in yesterday's blog here, last night the Red Cross put a note on my door of where we are to go in case we receive the dreaded "reverse 911 call" which is a mandatory evacuation notice from authorities. As of now, I have not received the call but last night my 13 yr old nephew and his family did. They live I'd say 8 miles from me.

The fire that is threatening my area the most is the Fallbrook fire which is north east from me. Oceanside is directly west of Fallbrook and the winds are blowing westward. Between Fallbrook and Oceanside is a river bed... The San Luis Rey river bed. The fear is that the fire will travel via the river bed with help from those westerly winds. My nephew's house is near the river bed, thus their evacuation notice.

The schools are closed again today so I've brought my boys to work with me. They're in the conference room watching movies. They're holding up well and I feel they now have a good understanding of what's going on. We had a good talk last night about the fires and I answered all their questions and laid their concerns to rest. I explained that if we have to go, we'll be taking all of our sentimental items like their baseball trophies, photo albums etc., and yes, Allan's skateboard. LOL

Anyway, when we left the house this morning we could not believe our eyes. The sky was this strange eerie color... it was almost like you were wearing yellow tinted sunglasses. You could not see the sky and the sun was blood red. Ashes are falling like rain and driving to work I noticed them blowing on the ground in little circular motions.... Eerie I tell you.

So here I am, trying to keep my mind focused on work but having a hard time....

Can you blame me?

Again, thanks for all the love and support. All your emails, comments, and messages mean so much to me...

Lots a love
