Well, I am exhausted. And now finally full. Full of food, after a day of having eaten nothing, except a bag of Chex Mix which I purchased at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
In any event, I realize no one is really that interested in hearing how my trip to Los Angeles went, seeing as how it's it's not very Star Wars related. However, I was excited to see one passenger with a Star Wars baseball cap on. I thought maybe he was going to Celebration IV as well, but after the plane landed, I never saw him at baggage claim.
Speaking of which, my luggage was not at baggage claim when I had gone to retrieve it, which frightened me a little. But that's a long tiresome story, and I am now way too exhausted to delve into the details of that one, so I will just say that I did manage to recover my luggage.
Now, things started to pick up a bit, when I went to my shuttle. At that point, I had a fun conversation with the guy who took my name for the shuttle. When I told him I needed to go to the The Sheraton Downtown Los Angeles, he said, "Oh, are you part of that Star Wars convention?" I told him I was, and he went on to say that he had driven around 200 people to the Downtown area today. I then said, "Well, you must have seen some pretty strange people today, huh?" His resonse: "Actually, I'm thinking of calling in sick so I can go there myself."
After that, there were people aboard the Super shuttle talking about Star Wars, and when I finally arrived at my hotel, Star Wars fans infested the hotel. For we are many.
In any event, this has been an extremely long day, and I am very tired. Oh, and before I forget, my shuttle drove by the Convention Center, and while it was late at night, probably after the marathon, I could see our proud Star Wars Celebration IV banner in all its glory (*sheds tear).
And with that, it is time for me to get some sleep, for it is very late in my time zone, and I have a very big day tomorrow.
As Always,
-The Star Wars Uncle
