For those who follow my various projects and appearances in the Star Wars fan audio genre, I thought I'd end 2007 with a quick recap of 2007's additions to the genre that I had the fortune in which to participate.
PODCASTS / RADIO SHOWS
-
ChronoRadio, the Star Wars online radio show that I'd been producing since 2002 finally ended in May 2007 after several new episodes this year.
-
Fan Audio Made Easy, my tutorial series for people interested in getting into the fan audio genre (or other similar projects) ended its scheduled 36-lesson run in early 2007 after having been released twice per month since 2005.
-
The Butlerniverse, which also premiered in 2005, continued with new episodes, including some from ConCarolinas 2007, a new interview with Kevin J. Anderson, original fiction, and more.
-
Fan Audio News Source, my podcast devoted to the Star Wars fan audio genre itself, ended in 2007 after a brief run since late 2006. I simply found it redundant, given that I already keep
Star Wars Fanworks updated with new release information and the like.
- I also continued my so-called "Story Collector" segments for
Star Wars Action News, eventually expanding those segments to also include an EU Character of the Month. Similarly, I continued my role as "Continuity Ambassador" to the SWAN Book Club's podcast roundtables as well.
- I was a guest on the
Coruscant-Cast for its twentieth (and First Anniversary) episode and its twenty-ninth episode, featuring the 30th Anniversary of ANH.
- I was a guest on several fan audio and voice acting episodes of
RoneyZone Radio this year.
- I was a guest on the finally-returned-then-soon-ended
Star Wars: In the Beginning radio show.
- I appeared on three episodes (including a special interview episode) of
Things Are Looking Up, though two of those were re-releases of panels from ConCarolinas that had already appeared on The Butlerniverse as well.
- I appeared briefly on the final episode of
Star Wars and Beyond.
- I also appeared as a guest on the second-to-last episode of
Star Wars FM.
- Much more recently, I have appeared on the first mini-cast and the Holiday Edition of the
EUCast.
AUDIO DRAMAS
- I released the Visual Commentary Editions of all three acts of
Second Strike for its Fifth Anniversary.
- I had the fortune to play Zioneth in the second episode of
Sins of Salvation, entitled Absolution.
- I played four roles (with different voice acting styles) in Dany Pepin's audio dramatization of Karen Traviss'
Omega Squad: Targets. For the record, I played Mar Rugeyan, N'zaet Nir, the Green Terrorist, and the CSF Explosives Officer.
- In the first two (the only released so far) episodes of
Knights of the Old Republic: Outcasts, I played the Narrator and Lord Venaar.
- In Steve Fluharty's audio dramatization of the Jawa Force comic, known as
Jawa Raiders, I played the Jawa known as Purglyn.
- Finally, in the premiere episode of
High Stakes, I played the brief (but fun) role of Tarik and the continuing role of Agent Queller.
If you find yourself interested in any of these, check them out. If nothing else, hopefully it will help draw you and others into the realm of Star Wars fan audio, a genre that stretches the imagination.
