What does bringing balance to the Force really mean? Did Anakin acomplish it or not? We've been hearing a lot about this ever since May, and here's my take on it:
The Jedi Order of the old republic embraced only light and suppressed darkness. Doesn't sound very balanced, does it? The New Jedi Order embraces both light and dark aspects of life, but allows neither to dominate. Much more balanced, wouldn't you say?
But the old Jedi Order could never have adapted to this philosophy. It would have gone against the very core of their beliefs. So the old Jedi Order died.
But like a phoenix from the ashes, if you'll excuse the metaphor, it rose again. Thus the New Jedi Order was born. Now, if the New Jedi are balanced and the old Jedi were not, would it be unreasonable to think that the Force is balanced durring the time of the New Jedi, whereas it ws not durring the time of the old Jedi?
I don't think so.
But why did the old order die? Why, because Anakin destroyed it, of course. And by doing so, and then proceeding to destroy the Sith, he allowed for the New Jedi Order to be formed, thus bringing balance to the Force.
Now, don't get me wrong. The old order was great, for it's time. But the Force can not reamain imbalanced forever, so eventually the old order had to die. And it was the destiny of the Chosen One to bring about that death in order to allow balance to be restored.
And by this line of thought, it follows logic that if the Force were ever to somehow become imbalanced again, another Chosen One would be born, to once again restore the balance.
Hmm....That would make an interesting story...
But I digress. This is just my opinion on things, and I know that most fans have their own theories, but I have greatliy enjoyed reading some of them, and hope that you have enjoyed reading mine.
May the Force be with you.
