the female side of the Force

Could the Jedi ever have beaten the Sith?
There have only ever been the most of 2 Sith at one time so how did they destroy thousands of Jedi?

In the ROTS novelisation Yoda says that the Sith have moved on from when they began, but the Jedi have not. The Jedi are incredibly arrogant and believe that their way is the right way, they seem too far stuck in the past.
But it seems the Sith understand that the galaxy has changed and has become more modern, people have tired over the old bureucratic ways of the Old Republic and are looking for something far more direct. Which brings on the Empire, who rules by the fist.
Anakin is a represntation in the SW galaxy of the changing times, he yearns for more action less talk and this is one of the things which draws him to the dark-side. If the Jedi were slightly more modern and had a better understanding the people that lived in their galaxy perhaps they could have beatin the dark-side, but in a galaxy where it is ruled by the fist the Jedi have no place.

Cheers!

I think the Jedi are more "traditional" in a sense that they don't like change, hmm sounds just like my dad lol. And the Sith have learned to adapt to the new sistuations presented to them.

The Sith used to number many more than two in the Old Republic. Pick up Darth Bane: Path of Destruction and you'll learn more of Sith history and how the Rule of 2 came about.

Darth Bane knew what he was doing. He knew that change was inevitable in order to save the Sith. He actually figured out how to save the Sith, unlike the Jedi, who got slaughtered by Palps.

Reading Darth Bane: Path of Destruction (as was just said) should help clarify this.

Yep. Reading Path of Destruction will clear up a lot. The Jedi arrogance stretched even ####her than I realized. Not only did they deem themselves untouchable, but they actually believed that they knew all their was to know about the beings they had sworn to protect, and that because they knew it, the beings couldn't change. Good thoughts!

i agree with most of the blogs here but it all comes back to balance, the universe is a constant struggle for balance evil or good can never tip the scale for too long of a time before balance must be achieved. like in the Old Republic when there were allot of sith then the jedi and the republic join together to destroy the sith and like in the prequels how there were many jedi but only 2 sith, at least in lucas starwars for we all know in the expanded universe there was more the just vader and palpatine. so it always comes back to balance where as yoda says in ROTS " A phrophecy that mis-read could have been" that there could not be balance with no sith there always is good and evil in the universe u cant have one without the other.

Yes the Jedi could have defeated the Sith... If Palpatine made one mistake.. Just one.. And the Jedi would adapt to that mistake.. He could have easily been beaten.. What if Anakin would had agreed to the fact that he would not be granted the rank of Master?.. If he simply sat down and said Okay thanks?.. He would have never felt the feelings he did and he could have taken down Palpatine easily.. The Sith were on a thin line.. But the Jedi were too arrogant..
