I thought of this blog this morning. Wat was it that drove Luke to keep trying to save his father? I say it was love. Now the reason i think this is because Luke kept trying to change his father. He would havedone anything to change him back. So really the thing that the Jedi said made you of the dark side and was against the code was wat saved the galaxy.
