Built For Destruction
Lightsaber training can be dangerous, and the living room/kitchen of a student flat is apparently not the best place for it. As I just found out.:8}

Having just watched a few YouTube videos of a lightsaber fight at Celebration Europe (blogs coming soon;) ) I felt the need to practice my skills. So off I went to my living room, the biggest, least cluttered room in my flat, and cleared the furniture out of the way, before picking up half of my Darth Maul Force FX lightsaber.]:)

After switching off the lights (Anyone with an FX 'saber will tell you this HAS to be done) I proceeded to go through a few defensive moves and kata's. I was feeling quite pleased myself, seeing the red light flashing across the walls and reflecting off the fridge, then occasionally catching a glimpse of my reflection in the windows, and I started to move faster and get a little more adventurous.

Then, as I swung the blade above my head, I felt it hit something:O , heard the shattering of glass, felt tiny fragments shower over my shoulders...."####" I cringed, unable to bring myself to look up out of fear of what could have broken. I stood there for a few seconds, head bowed, eyes closed, hands above my head, clutching my lightsaber. Motionless.

Eventually, though, I lifted my head, fully expecting to see the end missing from my saber. But as I opened my eyes, the red glow still filled the room and I looked up to see my lightsaber still intact! :) It was simply a light bulb that I'd smashed.(better than breaking my lightsaber) Taking the end of the energy efficient bulb clean off! Pretty amazing really, not even a scratch on the lightsaber, but a clean break across the glass of the light, almost as if it was cut by an actual lightsaber!

But then, I guess Mauls lightsaber was designed for breaking stuff.]:)
