A long time ago in theaters not so far away, Star Wars aimed its superlaser at all manner of Hollywood records, expectations, and conventions... and blasted them. A lot has happened since then. Who would have guessed that some little sci-fi flick by a relatively unknown director would go on to become the most successful saga in cinematic history?

It's even a Wednesday, the same day of the week the movie we now know as A New Hope opened. May 25th won't be a Wednesday again until 2011.

This is the first anniversary of ANH that people have been able to celebrate by watching the whole saga in order. So go do it, and may the Force be with you!
