The Force Unleashed: Random Thoughts

I wonder if Jim Ward's departure will have an effect on development... I was sorry to hear about that...

Euphoria is fantastic. DMM feels more like tech that's ahead of it's time, and I don't think this generation of gaming platforms can really use it to its full potential. We'll see, of course. But here's what I want to see: Battlefront III, where every vehicle has DMM, so that they dent and tear realistically. Rockets would literally punch through the armored skin and detonate, tearing the durasteel apart with incredible realism. And capital ships would react realistically to turbolaser fire, with hull breaches forcing lockdowns in different places around the ship.

What's up with the Secret Apprentice's lightsaber grip? I mean, that just looks uncomfortable...

And then there's the big question: how in the world is this guy so powerful!? But here's how I think about it: don't take it literally. The movies, the books, the comics, the TV shows, the games--they're all different interpretations of the same events. Look at retellings of famous events in history. Some are way over-the-top, and some are very down-to-earth and realistic. Star Wars is no different. As Ben might put it, "you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view." One interpretation of the Force or another doesn't have to be wrong. They're just looking at the same thing through different lenses.

I find that helps me relax about all sorts of continuity nightmares. :)
