OK, I'll admit it. I'm a box-office numbers junky. Pablo will tell you that this is ridiculous to compare and watch, and that this has nothing to do with fandom and how good a movie is and all that. He's absolutely right.

But I'm a junky none-the-less. Catch me on any given Monday, and I can probably recite the box-office take of the top 5-10 films for the weekend. So this has nothing to do with my love of Star Wars or any "competition" or anything like that.

OK, enough of the apologies... Box Office Mojo is now reporting a $50 million dollar opening day for Revenge of the Sith. That's a record for biggest opening day (vs. Spider-man 2's $40M) and biggest single day (vs. Shrek 2's $44.7M Saturday).
