As we established yesterday, I'm a pure box-office numbers junkie -- Star Wars or not. Add in my favorite movie franchise and that turns into obsession. Of course, I'm not at all unbiased in this, so I'll try to keep this editorial free. Just the facts.

Box Office Mojo is reporting Friday estimates of $35.5 million.

You may recall, day one was $50 million, counting approximately $16.5 million from the midnight showings. If you take out the midnight shows from Thursday's total you get $33.5 million.

That means if you compare Thursday's and Friday's "regular movie business hours" totals, Friday was actually a little bit better.

Who says Star Wars fans can't get a date?
