Read: Apple throws the switch, aligns with Intel

As a Mac-owner since 1984 (I've never personally owned a Windows machine), this is a pretty freakin big deal for me.

Some may remember the rumored "Star Trek" port of the Mac OS to Windows-class Intel machines in the 1990s, before Steve Jobs came back to the company. I always wondered how that might have gone...

In any case, don't get your hopes of of running OS X on your Windows box. Steve Jobs says that's not in the plan.

I'll likely have more to say on this later. Even though this was all but confirmed last week, I'm in a bit of shock at the moment.
