Fanboys: Will the masses care?
So the campaign for Fanboys has really caught the attention of the online community, and even The New York Post and The Daily Telegraph. But people have been wondering whether the mass of people will care? And if they would care, how will they know?

To be awkward, I'll answer the second question first - how will they know?

Well, the guys at "Stop Darth Weinstein" came up with a great idea for this. They're going to campaign outside cinemas in New York and Los Angeles that are showing the Weinstein's newest release, Superhero Movie.
If you live in NY or LA, get in touch and join them - all the details are on their website - http://www.committed.to/stopdarthweinstein.
This should work because it will give the mainstream press a neat photo to go with the story; a bunch of Star Wars fans with placards etc, some even dressed up, outside a cinema. Just think of the attention the costuming folk get when they are at an event dressed as Stormtroopers? This is a truly inspired way of getting mainstream attention.

And if it even works, will the mass of people care?

Yes! Think back to every time a Star Wars prequel came out - all of the TV presenters and radio hosts say what huge Star Wars fans they were. Here on UK breakfast show GMTV, during the Attack of the Clones build-up, the presenter said she was a huge Star Wars fan. Then introduced a clip featuring a character called Masse Mindu (yes, it was Mace Windu).
And then when I went to a midnight screening of Revenge of the Sith, the guys sitting behind my friend and I were saying what huge Star Wars fans they were. I tried to get a conversation going, and asked what they thought of the changes made for the original trilogy DVDs - their answer, "what changes?"

My point is, that while there may not be enough "huge Star Wars fans" as we understand the term out there, there are enough people who crawl out every time a new film comes out who believe they are huge Star Wars fans. If the force is with them and us, when they see protesting Star Wars fans on the news, they'll join our fight and demand the true version of Fanboys.

And let's say the majority won't be with us... pictures of angry Star Wars fans will embarass the Weinstein Company, and they may rethink which cut to release just to avoid the negative publicity.

Whilst "Stop Darth Weinstein" are staging protests, what can those who don't live in NY and LA do?
Not stop talking about this; keep the discussion alive, and tell anyone who'll listen. If the issue stays alive in the online/hardcore Star Wars community, it has more chance of getting further press attention.
