I Am NOT an Old Fossil!

I've Been Waiting for You, Granny-Wan!
There's a rock, and some sand.... Some rock covered sandy mountains.... Oh look, there's the Highway Patrol... damn Imperials are everywhere these days...

I'm blogging my way across Tatooine on my way to C-IV! I've left the Sonoran Sector and entered the Mojave Sector. This rented landspeeder really hauls! I ought to get one for the moisture farm.

In all truth, neither the Sonoran Desert not the Mojave look like Tatooine. These deserts are really "chaparral", with all sorts of scruffy looking vegetation growing alongside the highway. Tumbleweeds, mesquite trees, Joshua trees and the indigenous Saguaro cactus. All pretty boring.

It makes me wonder what old Obi-Wan thought of when he looked outside his hut everyday. Nothing but sand and rocks for as far as the eye could see. Nothingness. A reflection of his life as a Jedi. He'd gone from a respected Jedi Master, a member of the High Council, living on Coruscant, to a lonely hermit living in exile on a lonely planet. Nothingness.

So opposite of this journey I'm taking today. I've left my house on Tatooine, where I don't have much of a life and going to Coruscant for six days absolutely FULL of life. Somethingness. A whole lot of somethingness.

A great bid hug fest with all my friends that I've never met before. A big, huge building filled with members of my own species.... Star Wars fans.... Not just fans, but nuts...

I've been a fan since 1977. I just wonder if the building will say, "I've been waiting for you, Granny-Wan. The circle is now complete."

And may the Force be with us all...
