2008 will definitively be the year of new Star Wars projects with the Force Unleashed and the Clone Ward 3D animation project. When I was thinking about ideas for my Star Wars blog, I decided it would be really cool to do a series of blogs about the new Clone Wars show. I hope to help build some hype on the project until it premiere on TV (or maybe in theatre, I will talk about that in a future entry.)
But first, I would like to warn everybody, there will be
spoilers in almost every entry of the series. So, if you want to remain spoiler free on this show, don't read them.
So, now that the concept is established, I can start my first entry. Today, I will talk about a new character that we will discover for the first time in this show. She is a young Togruta Jedi Padawan, essentially a young Shaak Ti.
We first heard about that character in the
interview of George Lucas done by the website IESB.net during the Paley Festival of Los Angeles. He indicates we will see her in her first mission. According to Dark Horse Editor
Randy Stradley, who has some involvement with the show, she plays a big part at least in one episode. Per Randy's word, the term
spitfire is the best way to describe her.
There was some interrogation about the correct spelling of her name (Osoka and Asoka were sometime used in forums discussion), but a
picture of a future Lego set give us the answer .
As for pictures of the character, they are kinda hard to find. But she is on the
teaser poster that was available at CIV, in the background, welding a green lightsaber. We can also see her briefly from
the back in a Clone Wars profile video. Finally,
a bad quality picture of her lego minifig version appeared recently in the Rebelscum forums (the second minfig from the left.)
Now, in March of 2007, the website
Entertainment Geekly published a spy report on the show. The report as since be deleted from the website, but the information can still be found on the
TFN boards. The report seems to indicate Ahsoka could be in fact Anakin's padawan and that she may appear in the first episode of the show.
Take this last information with a grain of salt, because it is not official, but my next entry will give a little bit more credit to this spy report so who knows.
So there you have it, the first entry of The Clone Wars 3D animation facts. If you could give me feedback on the concept, I would really appreciate it.
