The Clone Wars 3D animation facts #1 and #2 confirmed officially
Beware of spoilers below.

An article at the official site has made official all the information I had given you in my past two entries about the Ahsoka character. So, it also confirms indirectly the information on the plot of the first episode and on the Rotta character, Jabba's son, because I got them from the same source.

The full name of the Togruta padawan is Ahsoka Tano says the article and she really is Anakin's padawan. Check out the article at the official site for a great picture of the character.

I'm glad to have official confirmation of my info. I know have a little more credibility, haven't I? :p

Very cool, I read the SW article and now that its confirmed that Anakin has an apprentice I am a little perplexed. The idea of Anakin having a padawan is very interesting - but I find it odd that its something never referenced in the ROTS or the OT - Anakin having a padawan is a big deal. On the other hand, Anakin having an apprentice and Vader having a secret apprentice is a pretty interesting concept. Guess we will have wait and see how this whole thing roles out.

pretty cool, I just stumbled upon the info from the official site and was looking thru the blogs for some sort of discussion. The biggest thing that took me by surprise was that she is Anakin's padawan. I never expected this and with The Force Unleashed and Vader already taking a secret apprentice in that story, I'm interested to see how they play out these things. Never the less I am still excited for the show and to think we will be seeing it later this year!B-)

I just came from reading the article! As excited as I am for the show, this padawan thing is beginning to bug me. They better have a good explanation...... *shakes head*

I read that this morning from a link at TheForce.net.

I like the idea of Anakin having a Padawan. It is a thusfar unexplored dynamic in the Star Wars universe. We know that Vader will take an apprentice, but Anakin with a Padawan is something different.

I fear for her future though. Seeing as how we never got to know her in RotS...or elsewhere for that matter, I suspect she will come to a premature end.

I think it's just weird that Anakin suddently had an apprentice. The cartoon prior to RotS' release leaves little room for it. And it's never mentioned anywhere. It doesn't look like this was in Lucas' plans for a long time.

Oh yes, there is room, 6 months to a year approximately (and more if you take in consideration only the cartoon.) The news series will take place between the chapter 21 and 22 of the first series.

It is an interesting dynamic that I had never considered before. I had gotten the impression that it was unusual for Jedi to take on padawans so soon after being knighted, with Obi-Wan being an exception because of the unique situation with Anakin, but it makes sense that they'd take on apprentices sooner due to the demands of the Clone Wars. It will be interesting to see whether she'll be impetuous like her master, or more reserved like Obi-Wan and the older masters. I agree that her lack of mention in ROTS doesn't bode well for her long-term survival...

I don't understand why people are peeved about Anakin having an apprentice. I think it's a great idea. The possible character interactions and dynamics are really exciting to me. With all of Anakin's complaining in Ep. II, how will he train an apprentice? It's a great new twist.

Did you ever stop to think that the masters gave Anakin a padawan so early for a few reasons?
One, because the Clone War created a high demand for more Jedi knights.
Two, to try and make Anakin see the "error of his ways" by making him responsible for a padawan to teach. Make him grow up. Someone who would look up to him, and for whom he would feel responsible to show the right way.
Three, maybe they saw the potential for Anakin going to the Dark Side and they were trying to tip the scales to the light side by giving him a padawan.

I do have apprehensions about her longevity since she isn't mentioned in Ep. III nor in any of the books such as "Labyrinth of Evil." After all is said and done, I am a bit surprised that Anakin has a Padawan, but I am also delighted. I can't wait!
