In the world of Star Wars memorabilia there are so many different things that people enjoy collecting. For some it's figurines or Legos, for others it may be works of art in relation to the saga. Everyone has their own personal tastes in what they value collecting, but in the end it's all because of the same thing - Star Wars fandom.

Recently i've decided to start a Star Wars collection of a different sort. A collection that is as closely related to the actors who portrayed our favorite characters throughout the movies - autographs. Yes, I have this determination to gather up 8" x 10" autographed photos and eventually display them on a wall somewhere in the house. An expensive collection indeed, but well worth the effort in my opinion.

So my collection has started off with two of the easier characters to find, Aayla Secura (Amy Allen) and Darth Maul (Ray Park.) I actually have two Ray Park autographed photos. The first of the two photos is Darth Maul from the neck up with his hood on. The second photo is from Darth Maul's classic lightsaber duel with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Amy Allen autographed photo has Aayla Secura posing in the arena on Geonosis.

As for the next character i'd like to add to my autographed photo collection, i'm thinking of Mace Windu (Samuel L Jackson.) It's a more expensive autograph to obtain, but once I get ahold of one my collection will be that much more complete. Now there are some autographs that I may never be able to purchase, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) for example. But then again, i've managed to acquire some rare items in the past.

We all have different types of Star Wars related memorabilia that we enjoy collecting. While some items are rare and hard to find, others may be able to be purchased in duplicates. Regardless of whether your collecting interests are the figurines, Legos, artwork, autographs, or whatever else is out there - it's all part of being an avid Star Wars fan. Collecting is like anything else in life, what you want and have is all about how far you're willing to go in order to get it.
