Well, I guess I'm next in line in the LILWA to let you know the real me!
I already answered in a previous blog why my blog name is
"Invoking the Squee"! It amazed me how many people were interested in finding that out, since VA2 had asked!! How funny!
I was born in 1968, so I was 9 when A New Hope first came out. My Dad took me originally and I fell in love with the movie immediately (and with Han Solo)!! That was it for me! Everything from that moment on was Star Wars! My parents knew they had a sci-fi geek on their hands and they fed right into it. (I think they knew I'd be safer if they did- they were right!) So, they started buying me anything Star Wars related that hit the stores (starting my collecting habit) and that was "all she wrote"! I went to sci-fi conventions and everything - it was really cool! I loved my childhood!
Anyway, I grew up in Bryan/College Station, Texas and went to Texas A&M University. Whoop! We had the best sci-fi convention there, AggieCon (still do, actually) - I still go every few years. To cut the story short, I met my now ex-husband there and moved to Houston. We divorced after almost 11 years (no kids - thank goodness).
Good thing about moving to Houston was that I got into the banking industry, which I've been working in now for 17 years and I love it! I'm now a bank trainer (for 11 of the 17) and am as happy as can be in my chosen career.
I am now married to a wonderful man (my own Han Solo)! We'll be married for 2 years next month! We have 3 kids (actually his from 2 previous marriages), but they're just as much mine as if I'd had them myself. I've managed to turn them into SW nuts! Yea!! They are 14, 11 and 5 and the 5 year old lives with us as her mother died a year and a half ago. Don't worry, things work out for the best sometimes. My padawan is better off with us. It's taken me the year and a half to un-do all the damage that had been done to this little angel. (She wasn't an angel when we got her, but she is now

).
Now, my Han Solo is a licensed Peace Officer, reserve State Guardsman (Army), security officer and tattoo artist (appointment only). Yes, he stays busy! We love being together, have many interests alike, not the least of which is SW and playing with my SW toys!

We also share a love of all things celtic, which is what brought us together in the first place. We shared the same circle of friends and both worked in the Texas Renaissance Festival and other celtic events.
Well, that's me in a nutshell! Help! Get me out of this nutshell!!
Anyway, I truly enjoy all the LILWA blogs and enjoy our chats here! We have such a neat group of friends here!!!

Love to you all!!!
