For some reason (I just can't figure out why
*cough*nob01
*cough* Ha ha), I just keep thinking about Han! Well, I always do anyway, so that's really nothing new for me, but anyway...
I was feeling all nostalgic and thinking about way back in 1980 when TESB was about to be released. Everytime I was watching TV, there was another commercial for the movie (oh, darn) *tee hee* and many of them had the scene with Han and Leia aboard the Falcon when he was going to move in for their first kiss.

Also, there were MANY TV spots with interviews and such (I taped all of them at the time) and almost every one of them spotlighted that scene, so I had those lines memorized before the movie even came out! Yea!
Now, I was a 12-year old girl at the time, so the hormones were starting to race! I was already in love with Han Solo/Harrison Ford, so this scene was just sweet candy in my mouth!!! I was all over it like Jar Jar on food! I also liked Leia's character, so I had no problem with her being the one that Han was about to woo! Naturally, I wanted to be in her place, but that's normal. My point is, I wasn't jealous; I was rooting for my heroine to get the guy!!
Han: Hey! Your worship, I'm only tryin' to help.
Leia: Would you please stop calling me that?
Han: Sure, Leia.
Leia: You make it so difficult sometimes.
Han: I do. I really do. You could be a little nicer, though. Come on, admit it. Sometimes you think I'm all right.
Leia: Occasionally... maybe. When you aren't acting like a scoundrel.
Han: Scoundrel? Scoundrel? I like the sound of that.
Leia: Stop that.
Han: Stop what?
Leia: Stop that. My hands are dirty.
Han: My hands are dirty, too. What are you afraid of?
Leia: Afraid?
Han: You're trembling.
Leia: I'm not trembling.
Han: You like me because I'm a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life.
Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han: I'm nice men.
Leia: No, you're not, you're...
*sigh*
Every time I saw it, I got flutterby's in my tummy (still do to tell the truth) * tee hee*, but I guess that's part of what makes a great love scene, isn't it?
Mina recently analyzed this scene from a little bit of a different perspective. That's one of the cool things about these films is that we can just break the same thing down in so many different ways!
I think one of the parts that I love the most in that scene is when Han begins bringing his face closer to Leia's and he says, "You like me because I'm a scoundrel..." and his voice becomes deeper and more gruff. MAJOR FLUTTERBY'S!!!!!

Yea!!!
Ok, so this was an incredibly sappy entry for me...
Tomorrow, I will be bringing you a much more hyper entry concerning the construction of my own Millenium Falcon, but for now...
Leia: I love you!
Han: I know...
Just too classic!!!
*sigh* My hubby and I do that to each other all the time!!! *tee hee*
Oh, how Star Wars affects our everyday lives and I love it!!!!
