Well, it's been a whole year since my last birthday blog. I know, I know, it's supposed to be a year, but that's not my point. Man, how time flies! As they say, though, time flies when you're having fun!
I make it my mission in life to have fun. What's the point of living otherwise. I'm not saying that I don't have responsibilities, of course. I most certainly do and they can be crushing at times, but that doesn't mean that I can't take time for myself and attempt to have a good time with whatever I may be doing.
Even though this year, on today, my birthday, my husband is heading out of town for a good while, I'm trying not to let it get to me. I've never been alone on my birthday before. It feels kind of weird. I don't count work. People here don't even know it's my birthday (and I'm not the sort to go announcing it) and my boss and co-workers are spread out over several states. My boss did call me a short while ago and that was cool!
So, I called a friend of mine who goes out with a group every Tuesday and asked if they were doing their usual tonight and he said absolutely and come on out and we'd have fun! So, that's what I'm doing for my birthday.
More importantly, though, if you really think about it, the day of the birthday is naturally special, but it's not all there is to it. I celebrated my birthday with my parents on Friday when I went to visit them. They had a small cake for me and
loads of presents!

Mom couldn't decide between the Lego Star Destroyer and the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle so she got me both!

I can't wait to put them together!

My dad found several vintage pieces including this
die cast Landspeeder (I'd never even seen one of them before),the McQuarrie framed picture in the background is awesome, too, and he also ran across this
Episode I pillow! I think it's pretty cool!
My cat had to put in her two cents, of course...
Mom is always finding great deals and got this
Darth Vader voice changer for me at a steal!

Gotta love moms and dads!!!
Then yesterday a box arrived from my best friend,
Jedi Master Mina!

She sent me a load of
Star Wars (
and other) gifts!!! She knows me so well!! Notice the Indy Jones figure (it's so awesome) and Han stuff, of course!!

Plus, she broke down and got me a couple of Harry Potter items. What a sweetie!!! Thank you, dear friend!!
Mina and our friend, Jazzie, found the
Bantha Pack about a month ago and knew I wanted it, so they called to see if they should pick it up for me. I told them to grab it and it became my gift from hubby!

That's the way it's done!

He's in no danger of disappointment from me if he keeps picking gifts that way!
On top of it, my daughters went and spent their own money to get me a cool POTF Han Solo figure at the Sci-Fi collectibles shop right by my home. That was so sweet... and unexpected!!
It's been a great Star Wars birthday and I'm happy to have such wonderful family and friends!!!
I hope everyone has a great day!!
