New 30th Anniversay Trading Cards!!!! So COOOOL!!
I've been collecting trading cards ever since I can remember. They are so much fun and give you so many wonderful pictures..... and memories.

Over the years, I have protected my precious card collection.... my preccciousssss... oops, sorry, wrong movie. ;)

Anyway, in the last few years, I have found a new use for my cards besides gazing lovingly at them once-in-a-blue-moon. Now, I use them for reference material for my artwork. Some of you may recall that I've taken up painting shoes and the call for them has become overwhelming almost. It's so fun, though!

One of these days, I'll have time to do an actual painting on canvas instead of canvas shoes! :^O Of course, what I neeeeeed to do is make the time to do a regular canvas painting, huh. ;)

Ok, back to the original reason for this blog...

The new 30th Anniversary Trading Card collection is fabulous!!!! :D I've only just begun collecting them (10 packs so far), but I am incredibly impressed by them!!! As Fan4Years blogged a couple of weeks ago, they even included cards from the Holiday Special!!! In addition, many of the cards are behind the scenes photos! It's so awesome!!!!!

So far, I've gotten 2 of the Animation Cel cards, 1 magnet card and 4 Tryptic puzzle cards. I can't wait to get more packs and see what else I can find!!! Woo-hoo! :D

I always miss collecting cards in between releases of sets and usually just buy the whole set from a dealer eventually, but I always have a blast trying to collect them myself first. I've never actually managed to find a complete set by myself, but, who knows! Maybe I will this time! :)

Wish me luck!!!!! Good luck to any of you who are collecting these as well... or perhaps I should say, "May the Force be with you!"

:x

Are you buying from various stores? I just wonder because maybe you have a better chance of getting the extra cards that way. I just bought one box and got a complete set and several puzzle cards (and one autograph), but none of the animation cels.

Not yet. ;) So far I've only found them here at Target stores, but I'm always keeping a look out! I hope you get some of the animation cels. They really are spiffy!

I really hope to find an autograph card! That would be amazing! Congrats to you for scoring one, Fan4Years! :)

Have you seen the Collectors set? I saw them at Target and have been tempted; although normally I am NOT a card collector. I may get these for fun though after your review.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive... :|

I remember the 1993 SWG set had some artwork from the Holiday Special. It was the first time I had heard of it. Life seemed so innocent back then.

For real? OK, now I have to search for these! :^O

BEST ;) of luck with this new collecting adventure. I really hope you do make the time to paint on a big canvas, too. Those pics of the shoes are great, but they are SO much more detailed in real life. No one can understand quite how beautiful they are unless they see them in person. (I'm one of the super lucky ones that can look at a pair anytime I want!:x) I can only imagine how beautiful a painting of yours would be on canvas...

I have seen the card packs at my local Target, too, but I mostly go for the action figures...I would probably lose the cards in the mess I have around here right now :^O Good luck to you in your collecting adventures :)

Although I love my blogger page, I may have to go check yours out again :D ;) :x

Fun! That brings back memories of getting the very cards you have up in that picture when I was a kid. I still have a lot of them too - which reminds me. I should put them in a file rather than having them piled in a bin with someother toys and junk like they are now:O

Yes! You should totally start painting (I mean on the *other* canvas :p). I get inspired to do that whenever I look at some of the awesome Star Wars art by the official artists, and the You Can Draw stuff. It just takes setting up the space and materials, then you can do it at your leisure! Yeah, I haven't done that either.. and I went to art school!:_|

Me too, JK!! :O Small world it is! Mmmm, yes, small world. ;)

You should definitely put your cards in a nice card sleeve and in a binder. Keep 'em looking good! ;)

Have fun collecting those cards, oh-so-talented-hg!!!

I have to run out and get me some! I have only one complete set - the movie set from TPM, I think. You should have seen the piles of duplicates just to get that complete set. Egad!!!
(and my hubby wonders why we're running out of space! ;))

Cards are great for art references. And easy to carry if you travel. Too bad they are tricky to find. Unless you can find a dealer and buy the whole set or get the last few. Even online if you look for trading cards most of the card places that come up show sports or Pokemon. And normally online you can find almost anything. Personally I'd love to find Chewie's family from that holiday special.
