What an amazing weekend I had filled with Star Wars goodies, artists, actors and a Fan Club Breakfast!! With LOTS of pictures!
This past weekend was the Dallas SciFi Expo which I
previously blogged about. This year in honor of the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, the con was dubbed Star Wars Fan Days.
My mom and I began our trek from Houston to Dallas on Friday afternoon, stopping at WalMart along the way and making our first of many Star Wars (and Transformers ~ I'll go into that later

) purchases of the weekend.
We arrived in Dallas (Plano, actually) around 9pm and rested in our hotel to prepare for the next day.
Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early to get
ready and go as we had purchased tickets to the Fan Club Breakfast with guest,
Jeremy Bulloch!
In addition, to Jeremy Bulloch,
Steve Sansweet spoke as well as the
Star Wars Hasbro rep (I can't remember his name).
During breakfast,
Jeremy Bulloch and
Steve Sansweet came around to give autographs and talk with everyone. The crowd at the breakfast was small enough that they could walk around to us instead of forming lines for us to go to them. That made it all very special.

Besides, we all got a fantastic goodie bag as we left. I got my mom's since she's not really an SW fan. *tee hee*
Once the breakfast was over, it was time to start enjoying the rest of the con! I had purchased the "VIP" package, which gave me a cool lanyard and badge, but more importantly, a set of exclusive Star Wars Fan Days
autograph cards for all the actors' autographs as well as a set of blank cards for obtaining free
sketches from the attending Star Wars artists!!

Also, included was the autograph from Mara Jade model,
Shannon McRandle for free.
I had more fun going around to everyone getting autographs and sketches!! Naturally, I took advantage of photo ops as well!

Visiting with
Daniel Logan (baby Boba

),
Amy Allen,
Mike Quinn, plus, Tim Rose, Paul Weston, and Femi Taylor. What a blast!!
I was so excited because my mom kept pointing out to people (especially the artists)
my shoes that I painted.

One of them, Brian Denham, went totally nuts over them and took pictures of them and his wife was so excited that as we talked and I told her that I do Harry Potter shoes as well, she said she wants to order a pair from me for her daughter!!! How cool is that!!!?!?!???
In addition, because the convention was much smaller and there were fewer people attending, it was possible to actually talk to the actors and not be rushed. I was able to have a very nice conversation with Dave Prowse in the hallway at one point, as well as Peter Mayhew outside of the hotel that we were both staying at! Talk about amazing!!!
In attendance also was
Elvis Trooper and, of course, he's always just fun!
The Dealer's Room!!

Always at the top of my list of the most fun things to do at conventions is to walk the Dealer's Room several times and spend as much money as I have!

This con was no exception. The Dealer's Room was just great; filled with tons of Star Wars stuff as well as other scifi collectibles. I was in heaven!! It didn't hurt that Mom decided to buy me almost everything I wanted besides what I was buying for myself. It's good to feel like a kid again sometimes!
I'm a long time trading card collector, so I was thrilled to find some cards that I didn't have yet including the
Serenity set and bonus cards. In addition, there were plenty of
Star Wars cards to be found and I was able to round out my collection of those with some sets that I didn't have yet. That is partially why I was so stoked about this con having the autograph card set! That's right up my alley!!
I'm also a 12 inch doll collector, so I found
some of those, including the
Sideshow Obi-Wan Kenobi that I've been wanting for a while. Squeeeee!!
My mom bought this fabulous
life-size Yoda for herself and had more fun riding around with it on her
"GoGo"!!

Lots of pictures were taken of her. She also had fun having pictures taken with characters such as
Stormtroopers.

There were other
characters there as well, naturally.
Of course, there were panels as well. We attended a great talk by
Peter Mayhew, Paul Weston, Mike Quinn and Tim Rose on "I was a Star Wars alien"! They were all so funny telling us some of the interesting things about playing an alien in SW and some of the horror stories as well!
Steve Sansweet gave a talk on upcoming Lucasfilm projects and a recap of the events that have taken place this year. What a great talk!! PLUS, we were treated to the opportunity to purchase a special limited edition, numbered first released
official picture from the new Indy Jones movie!!!! I was so thrilled!!! I rushed right out to get it and got number 13 out of 250!! SQUEEEEEEEE!!! What a great picture of my favorite man!!

I also picked one up for my BFF, JMM

(Jedi Master Mina, that is) and I'm giving her #12 because 13 is my favorite number.
All in all, it was just a wonderful show and we had so much fun and spent
Waaaaaay too much money, but that's ok.
Ok, I told you I'd get back to the Transformers thing, so here we go...
Mina has been talking up Transformers ever since it was in the theaters, but I didn't get to go see it. I told her I'd buy it as soon as it came out and that's exactly what I did. Well, I LOVE it and immediately fell in love with Bumblebee!!! He's just so sweet and cute. Well, as Mom and I were having our adventure, we ran across a couple of Bumblebee's. I bought the smaller version and had told her about the Ultimate Bumblebee that's out which has lights, sounds, music, etc and is just too cool. We found one at Target in Dallas and she just decided to
get it for me!!!! WOO-HOOOOOOO!!! What fun!!
Hope you're not too tired of reading this and clicking on pictures, but I just had to report on the fun of that convention!! The only thing that could have made it better would have been if Mina could have been there with me. Well, her and Harrison Ford!! *tee hee*
