Well, I completed a new pair of shoes... men's shoes!

I set myself up for a challenge on this pair, because when I paint men's shoes, I use the "deck shoes" style as they give a great "canvas" to work upon.

I couldn't find any white deck shoes this time, though, which is what I usually use. I could only find navy blue. Well, being the creative adventurer I am , I decided to give them a try thinking that the blue background would provide my "starscape" background for me!

That was actually a great idea, except that attempting to paint lighter colors (ie: grey) on the blue background proved to be a challenge at best!

I won out in the end, but I can't even tell you how many "coats" of grey I had to put into each of these two ships.

May I present to you my first (and probably last) pair of blue canvas shoes, newly completed!!

This pair has the Millennium Falcon on one shoe and Serenity from Firefly on the other... at the request of the owner.

I do love branching out into new areas as I progress in my painting.

It's a fun pair, I think!
