Happy Birthday ESB!!!!!

There is a little known character (at least to non-SW geeks ) by the name of Pharl McQuarrie.

General McQuarrie, in case you didn't know, was second in command on the Hoth rebel base to General Rieekan, whom we all know well.

As I looked into the character of Pharl McQuarrie, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that his character also played a pivotal role in the destruction of the first Death Star as one of the people struggling to get the plans to Princess Leia.

I'm positive that anyone reading this knows that General McQuarrie's character was created in honor of the reknowned artist, Ralph McQuarrie, responsible for so many of the saga's storyboard art. You may not also be aware that Mr McQuarrie appeared briefly in a scene in ESB on Hoth at the base. Pretty cool!

I had never thought about it before beginning this blog, but did you notice that "Pharl" contains all of the letters in Ralph's name? Hello! Captain Obvious strikes back!!!
