For anyone who has known me for
any length of time, they'll know that for the last ten years of my life, I've been working on a book series. As a Christian
and a geek, I've spent a lot of my life justifying to people my two passions and how my love for Christ and my love for monsters and the spooky do not cancel each other out.
As a writer, I've sought to bridge the gap of these two genres to craft an epic Christian Horror trilogy. Yep, you read that right. I've got monsters versus the people of faith and it's a concoction that's proven to be scary, funny, and exciting. I had an agent for awhile and we shipped the project to a lot of editors in the Christian Fiction market but I was told the book was "too dark" for the market but, what I think they meant to say was, it was "too geek".
Drawing upon my inspirations from Star Wars, Back to the Future, the Monster Squad, and about every fun monster movie I saw in the 80s, I sought to make a book for the Christian geek or for the regular Joe Fanboy (or Jill Fangirl) who wasn't opposed to having a little theology thrown in with their creature feature.
Seeing as how the market wasn't "ready", I felt led to release the first book of this trilogy via Print-On-Demand. And now, after a long struggle, the book is out. Sure, it doesn't have the backing of some huge publishing corporation (yet),
but it's available to the people, and that's what matters most to me. Now, I've yakked long enough. The book is called
The Coming Evil, Book One: The Strange Man and if this has piqued your interest, I welcome you to check out
the official site where you can learn more about the book, get an in-depth background on the project, and even buy a copy for yourself.
Thanks for listening
