Hey, all. Just got the official confirmation that my short story "Ex-Communicator" will be appearing in Frank Creed's "Underground Anthology" to be published (tentatively scheduled this Christmas) by
Writers' Cafe Press!
"The Underground Series" is a Biblical Cyberpunk epic begun in Creed's novel "Flashpoint". I had heard about the series all over the place, but hadn't really done a lot of reading up on it, though I was quite intrigued as it brought to mind many junior high afternoons creating Shadowrun characters. I met Frank through the
Lost Genre Guild and, really out of the blue, he approached me and invited me to play in his universe a bit and write a story for his upcoming anthology. As a staff writer for the Halloween Comics,
this wasn't my first rodeo in a shared universe, but, where I know more about Michael Myers and Haddonfield than you would probably ever WANT to know, I had no clue about Frank's universe other than "Biblical Cyberpunk" (which sounded pretty cool to me). Frank was gracious enough to send me an early draft of the second book in the series--"War of Attrition" by the way, also due out this year--and I quickly latched on. It's
very heavy on action and explosions and crazy tech and manliness and all the flash-bang I liked about Shadowrun stuff

Frank liked what I came up with and gave me a lot of encouraging and ego-inflating words of kindness, so I'm really looking forward to the "Ex-Communicator" seeing daylight. I'll drop another note on here to let those who care know when it comes out, but I wanted to share the news.

Amazon bestseller! And, as always, I'm still loitering on the web over at
my blog.
In unrelated, though much cooler news (and the reason for the odd picture over there on the side), my wife is expecting our second child! There will be another lightsaber twirling in the Ga home
