This is going to be a relatively short entry, but it's something that I've been wondering about.

We all know that the Prophecy was that Anakin would destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force. He had a perfect opportunity in Palpatine's office when he divulges his true identity. Had Anakin killed him, like he wanted to, the Sith would have been destroyed and the good guys would have won, right?

Mabye not. On the Invisible Hand, Anakin says that he shouldn't have killed Dooku because he was an unarmed prisoner and killing unarmed prisoners is not the Jedi way, it is of the Dark Side.

I guess my question is, would Anakin have been giving in to the Dark Side if he killed Palpatine, who was unarmed, and fullfilled the Prophecy when he had the chancein the office? Or would the Force and the Jedi recognized that it was a necessary evil and forgiven him?
