The story of the Legacy era that begins after the New Jedi Order and the Dark Nest trilogy novels are being told in the form of the Legacy of the Force novels and the Star Wars Legacy comic series. Book 1 of the Legacy of the Force series began with last week's release of Betrayal, by Aaron Allston. The Star Wars Legacy comic series kicks off today with the release of Star Wars Legacy #0 which serves as a preliminary handbook to the series.

Please note that during the development of the Legacy era, the dating changed a bit. Betrayal takes place at 40 ABY (early sources suggested 37 ABY as the starting point). The Legacy comics take place 100 years after the Vong invasion, at 130 ABY (early sources suggested that the stories take place 100 years after the last major Star Wars adventures).

Legacy (40+ ABY)
This is the era of Luke Skywalker's legacy: the Jedi Master has unified the order into a cohesive group of powerful Jedi Knights. As this era begins, planetary interests threaten to disrupt this time of relative peace. Luke is plagued by visions of an approaching darkness, and his descendants must face new-and resurgent-threats to peace, and to balance within the Force.
