The Lameness of the Jedi

Okay, don't get me wrong, I love the Jedi but I think that they are pretty weak when it comes down to it.

We all know that the Sith are stronger but not better than the Jedi. Yet, how weak are the Jedi that when they come face to face with Palpatine they sense nothing. True, Windu and Yoda were suspicious, but didn't the Jedi as a whole see anything. Apparently Sidious clouded their vision but still..........

Possibly.....since the Jedi support the Republic they had no second thoughts about senators.

Or.......Sidious was so strong that he completely blinded the WHOLE Jedi Order.

Or perhaps the Jedi were just STUPID. They were so dumb that all several thousand of them saw no error in Palpatine, perhaps Obi-Wan was so dumb as to not even give a hoot to what Dooku said in II. Perhaps what Asajj Ventress said in the Clone Wars, "Jedi, their order is a fading light in the dark," was right.

More evidence? okay. They make so many exceptons even when the Force is speaking to them. They trained Anakin even though YODA, said no. In Episode III, didn't the Jedi read the weak minds of the cones after Order 66 was executed. Didn't Mundi sense anything? All Secura does is raise her hands in surrender, I mean, come on, fight back!!!!!! I think that the lameness of the Jedi is not in thier leadership, but in thier lack of knowledge. Perhaps Anakin was right, the Jedi Order as a whole is corrupt. It just seems that the Order didn't take action.

Thoughts? Are the Jedi dumb? Do you have evidence supporting or denying my idea? If you agree or disagree please tell me. No profanity.

Agreed, Mina.

Perhaps Anakin was right, the Jedi Order as a whole is corrupt. It just seems that the Order didn't take action.

I do not feel that they were corrupt at all. Some of them turned, obviously (ie: Dukoo, etc). They should have taken some action sooner, perhaps and possibly in some different ways, but I would not say that they were stupid in any manner at all.

Arrogant is a much better word, I believe.

Some good thoughts here.

But where does their arrogance stem from? Probably they'd become complacent since the "victory" at Ruusan. An indicator is their swift rejection of the possibility of the Sith still being alive and kicking as an impossibility. It is probably also this complacency/arrogance that causes the Jedi Order to remain stagnant and rigid, not keeping up with the development of the surrounding galaxy.

It's not the Jedi's fault they couldn't sense that Palpatine was a sith. I mean Palps was a Sith Lord so he could easily so the force to cloud their minds and he could cloak his Force signature from them, as the jedi did when they were on missions.

Obi Wan and a several other Jedi knew not to trust some senators because they were corrupt, Obi Wan even said something along those lines in one of the prequel movies( I believe it was AOTC). So Master Monkey, those are just several things that might prove you wrong.

The Jedi were wise and intelligent but id a friend of yours suddenly pulled out as gun and fired, how much time would you have to react, especially when theyre behind you.
You just cant anticipate, and the jedi arent constantly reading minds, so they wouldnt be alerted in time.
Yoda sensed the the thoughts of the clones and sensed them approaching, like he would sense any opponent, but he was a lot better than the other jedi.
They arent dumb, they arebetrayed, and the finest of the jedi, yoda, even said that the dark side clouds EVERYTHING, and who would expect a kind and intelligent man would be an evil mastermind? They all presumed he was being controlled behind the scenes, Perhaps they werent thinking out further enough

The Jedi aren't weak. The only time that's easy for them to be defeated is if they're exhausted. They are not dumb either! The dark side clouds everything. Do you think it can be possible for us to see the future? No, its not. If I was a Jedi and some senators were like what Obi-Wan described, I wouldn't trust them either. So, the Jedi aren't dumb. Its only in your head. I disagree with Usetheforce19. They are not arrogant or not bright. Of course they are. You can see cunning warriors in every movie. Their tricks they use in their arts come from only one thing: intelligence! So, how do you like them apples?
