My Fantastic Review of Indy IV
SPOILERS:

:

So, I walked into the theatre with two of my frineds, my brother, and my parents. After seeing Raiders and Crusade again, my expectations were only moderately high. I was thrilled when the Lucasfilm logo jumped onto the screen and so it began....

-----------------------------------------------------------

AREA 51: The Good-
1. Dude...Area 51!!! What can't be good about that? The Soviets totally had me fooled as they drove up to the checkpoint in the military cars.
2. Indy! It's as if he hasn't lost a step...well...maybe, but his lines are brilliant and his mind is sharp!
3. Nuclear explosion?! The crowd burst into laughter as Indy frantically earched for a place to hide...and chose the refridgerator. Now we know.

The Bad-
1. Well, not much. The storyline kinda starts out of nowhere, but that kinda added to the mystery.

The Huh?-
1. Gunpowder. I so thought that he was intentionally draining the Soviets' guns of powder. It turns out that it was only to find the crate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ON A MID-NIGHT TRAIN TO PERU (and the introduction of Mutt): The Good
1. Shia LaBeouf didn't mess up the movie! As I saw him ride up on the Harley (nice touch) I inwardly groaned. But it seemed as though he was the charcater to pull any loose strings together. I applaude him for his work and feel sorry for him after he got hit in the nuts with several bushes.
2. The Crystal Skull. Ooooh, shiny. Apparently it has supernatural powers.
3. Ya remember that Indy hates snakes? Yeah. I can't blame him! I wouldn't hold on to a snake either!
4. The ants. I was hoping that the....errrr, I forgot her name. You know, the evil lady...yeah, I wanted her to get carried away into an ant mound.

The Bad-
1. Mutt and the monkeys. Need I say more?
2. The three drops. Okay, can anyone really survive multiple drops like that? But I guess that's why its Indy!

The Huh?-
1. Argh.......I forgot his name too. Ock? Is that it? Anyway, the crazy old guy. I was kinda confused. I'm so confused that I can't write more....
2. The Skull and Indy. Ok, so did Indy really hear the skull or was he just faking it? I think he heard it, but I'm not sure...

-------------------------------------------------------

THE TEMPLE (up to the conclusion): The Good-
1. Indy. Really he made the movie great. He can always solve any mystery.
2. Ok, so this whole part was good, it's hard to pick anything specific.

The Bad-
1. Easyness. It doesn't seem that the gang had a very hard time getting to the city of gold.

The Huh?-
1. So.........the Indians worshipped and believed in aliens? Who's their leader? Tom Cruise?
2. City of Gold? Didn't we just see this in National Treasure 2? And I thought it was in the U.S.
3. Max? Is that his name? Oh yeah, he's a quadruple agent.

--------------------------------------------------------------

THE ALIEN COUNCIL: The Good-
1. What a conclusion! What could be more mysterious than 13 crystal alien skeletons..........What's that you say? Jar-Jar is more mysterious? Yeah, ya got me there. It reminded me of the Star Wars Jedi Council....except they weren't crystal alien skeletons.
2. The evil lady blowing up. Yep, I'd predicted it since the start. She would blow up. And she did! Creepy ending man, the alien comes face to face with her and then.........BOOM! and evaporate. Did ya notice that her eyes and nose started flaming? just like Greivous.
3. Indy's hat's triumphant return.

The Bad-
1. Have I mentioned that I used to have a fear of aliens? Yeah.
2. Why do the bad guys always show up at the climax?

The Huh?-
1. So....what was the gift the alien wanted to give them?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT I LEARNED:
1. When a nuclear warhead is about to hit your town hide in a refridgerator.
2. Aliens are made of crystal.
3. Watch out for big ants.
4. If you get too smart you blow up.
5. Indy's dad is hiding in the space between spaces.....what? It's a good theory!
6. INDY CAN STILL KICK BUTT!

------------------------------------------------------------

OVERVIEW: Dude! Harrison Ford proved that he can still kick butt in his mid-60's! Shia LaBeouf didn't mess up the film. I rank it either 1st or 2nd on the list of Indy films. The Last Crusade is the only one that I feel is better than Crystal Skull. This movie had the very real threat of totally flopping, but it didn't.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

All in all, even if ya got something to do this weekend, go see Indy 4.

May the Force be with us all! God bless!
