Twilight over Coruscant
Episode III.

The greatest movie ever.

As Star Wars fans we all knew what would eventually happen to the Republic, most of us saw the movies in this order, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, and finally 3. So as we watched Episode III, we all very well knew that Anakin would fall, and that the Republic would fall, even though we didn't know how.

But...if we didn't know of Anakin's fall, or of the Republic's crumbling, could we tell by looking at the sky?

Watch the movie again, no not now, but later. Look at the sky, notice anything? Perhaps a bit of symbolism mixed with foreshadowing? I sure see it.

You see, in Episodes I and the majority of II we see the sun at the top of the sky, noon. But, let's review again the ending of Episode II in our minds. :O Ah, what is this, the sun is going down!

Let's reveiw Episode III. :O Here come Anakin and Obi-Wan flying in, what, clouds?! Now lets see some more times, ah, Anakin has been accepted on to the Jedi Council, it appears that the sun is setting, setting on Courscant, setting on the Republic. Now we see Mace going to arrest Darth Sidious, and here's Anakin in the Council chambers...notice the sky? Half of the sun is gone. Anakin rushes in to save his Sith friend, he allows Sidious to kill the Republic's last chance of survival, the sun is gone, night has come. Order 66 is issued under darkened skies.

So, we have seen once more the genius of Mr. Lucas. He not only tells his stories with words and people, but also with the sky.

Comments? Have you noticed anything like what I've noticed? If so, comments are gladly welcomed.

No profanity, seriously.

May the Force be with us all! God bless!
