Hi y'all. I took a day off yesterday and so here I am, back for Part 4 of my "Are they really smart?" series. On a response to my Part 3, legodooku suggested an, "Are they really smart," on a specific clone. I ruled out Jango and Boba immediately and went to the two best known Clone commanders, Cody and Gree.

I looked up a some facts on them. I'll start with basic Clone commander facts. Certain clones were selected by a red clone named Alpha. He denied Kaminoian standards by training each commander to be an individual. Each one earned a name as a badge of merit. Cody was one of them.

Cody nearly became a friend with Kenobi (certain commanders were assigned to certain Jedi throughout the Clone War). Cody often shared jokes with Kenobi. When Kenobi lost his lightsaber, Cody caught it for him. Near to nine seconds after Kenobi took his saber Order 66 was ordered. Cody orders for a huge missile to be shot at Kenobi. It kills the boga and Kenobi falls. Now, why didn't Cody order a more specific shot, a sniper could get the job done better, and Cody gives up on looking for Kenobi in the water after only ten seconds. He should know that Kenobi is a Jedi and can survive.

Gree was fascinated with animal species and was assigned to Yoda. While standing on a platform doing nothing to help the Wookiees and clones, he gets the dreaded Order 66. He merely walks up behind Yoda to shoot him. Doesn't he know Yoda's power, does he think Yoda is dumb?! Yoda decapitates him and runs away on Chewbacca.

As we review these facts we see that these commanders weren't aware of thier surroundings, they didn't think things through. But what gets me the most is that there were a series of emergency protocols that the clones were trained to enact and I assume that Order 66 was one of them. Order 66 identified the Jedi as enemies of the Republic, but with each of the commanders undergoing indivualism training couldn't one of them have the will to think, "No, the Jedi serve the Republic." But then again, they are just clones.

In conclusion, Cody and Gree underestimated Jedi and didn't think their actions through. Let me know you're thoughts, I'm thinking about ending my series on Tuesday, should I or should I go to 10. No profanity.
