Well, one and a half weeks (almost two) into National Novel Writing Month, my novel is off the ground and flying. Well, sort of. Maybe running would better describe its movement. Or walking.
So, I have a plot, characters, a subplot, and minor characters. All well and good there. It's good even though the characters that were originally my protagonist's sidekicks have insisted that I turn them evil, which I obliged. But even though I have new sidekicks now, my word count, which is supposed to be 20,004 by Saturday night, is desperately low, at a little over 12,000. Still, it's better than I ever even hoped I would do.
However, I do need some help from somebody, anybody. I need to figure out how to make a two-week or so journey my protagonists are going on drag out for about 38,000 words. I tend to write two paragraphs and have them be at their destination, which is, in a 50,000 word novel, quite a problem. So, any help here would be greatly appreciated.
May the Force be with you,
